Château Lascombes winemaker Axel Heinz will join chef Shawn Gawle at Camaraderie, 608 West 11th, for the restaurant’s first wine dinner on Tuesday, October 13. The four-course menu includes foie gras agnolotti with Madeira and chicken jus, Muscovy duck with honeynut squash and huckleberry and a miso bombe with chocolate and hazelnut, paired with wines from the Margaux estate including a side-by-side tasting of the 2016 and 2022 Grand Vin. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with Champagne and canapés, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $185 per person.
Bari Ristorante, 4444 Westheimer, is hosting a one-night-only Italian Wine Dinner on Wednesday, October 14, featuring a five-course menu paired with Italian wines – think Biancavigna Prosecco Superiore Brut with dishes such as a red prawn tartare, poached langoustine with white truffle risotto, and RC Ranch striploin with fresh fig sauce. Tickets are $150 per person and reservations are available through OpenTable.
Trattoria Sofia, 911 West 11th, will host a four-course Bertani Wine Dinner on Thursday, October 15 at 7 p.m. on its covered, climate-controlled terrace. The Italian-inspired menu includes scallops almondine, risotto ai frutti di mare, short rib pappardelle and butterscotch budino paired with Bertani wines, including the 2015 Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. Tickets are $125 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
Shipley Do-Nuts’ annual Donut Dash is back at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, October 17, with a 10K at 7 a.m., 5K at 8 a.m. and Kids Dash at 9:45 a.m. A portion of registration fees will benefit Kids’ Meals, with a goal of raising $5,000 for the local nonprofit.
On Saturday, October 17, Long Weekend, 2044 East TC Jester, will host local performer Legacy Man, known for cruising through The Heights in neon gear and 1990s rollerblades while playing electric guitar or keytar. The family-friendly performance kicks at 6:30 p.m. while the bar offers cocktails and mocktails throughout.
The Palm will mark its 100th anniversary with a five-course wine dinner on Saturday, October 17 at 6 p.m. at participating locations nationwide, including Houston. The dinner celebrates a century of hospitality with five courses paired with Italian and Napa Valley wines. Tickets are $192.60 per person.
Culinary pop-up Cornrow hosts its Groundwork Tasting Menu: Fall Bloom at Tenfold Coffee, 101 Aurora, beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. The six-course dinner showcases the restaurant’s Indigenous Soul Food, blending West African, American Soul and Indigenous American ingredients and techniques, including live-fire cooking. Tickets are $110, including food, the experience and a 20 percent staff gratuity. Wine will be available by the glass.
The H-E-B Wine Walk returns to The Woodlands Resort on Saturday, October 24 from 6 to 9 p.m., with VIP admission beginning at 5 p.m. The fall event features more than 300 wines, beers and other beverages, plus 40-plus culinary offerings from local restaurants and chefs, live music, cooking demonstrations, themed tasting areas and pop-up entertainment. VIP admission includes premium pours and elevated food. General admission is $79 and VIP is $135.
