The group confirmed its St James Court site, which shut unexpectedly earlier this year, has permanently closed but did not give a reason.
Taking to Instagram, it reminded customers that its Tony Macaroni Express restaurant at The Hub in East Kilbride remains open and is now serving all its menus and offers.
The brand says it continues to operate at total of 13 locations across Scotland, making it one of the country’s largest branded restaurant businesses.
The news follows a difficult period for the business. Parent company Viva Italia Ltd faced a winding-up petition and the appointment of a provisional liquidator. Companies House records show that appointment was terminated on 7 August, with the company subsequently entering administration on 21 August.
Tony Macaroni offers a broad casual dining menu centred on Italian favourites, alongside burgers, ribs and steaks. Dishes include spaghetti carbonara, lasagne and risotto, as well as pizzas topped with ingredients including spicy ’nduja, Italian sausage and buffalo mozzarella.
Its Tony Macaroni 2.0 menu, available at Glasgow West End, also features a spaghetti carbonara burger: a beef patty topped with American cheese, creamy spaghetti carbonara and crispy pancetta.
