Florence street food is the fastest way to eat well between sights, and it is what Florentines do
instead of standing in a line around the block for a sandwich. Alessandro and I spent a day eating our way through the city, starting with lampredotto in Florence, Italy at a family-run cart that has been in the same spot for over twenty years, then cocoli, schiacciata, pizza al taglio, and gelato at a gelateria open since 1939.

If you have been trying to work out what to eat in Florence and wherethe locals go, this is a Florence food tour you can do on your own.

  2. Hi Elyssa and Alessandro great video especially when we were in Florence last November as I found Pollini his Lampredottaio was delicious but my wife not so keen. Keep up your great work, grazie mille

  3. Not sure if I'll make it to stopping in Florence next month, but if i better a chance to, I'll definitely have to try the Lamperedotto… unsure how is spelled!

  4. Mikayla is absolutely stunning. She looks like a model. She’s probably constantly hounded by the Italian men. 😂

  5. Such a wonderful vid and nice to see Alessandro having a bigger presence. It was fun and informative and made me want to visit again. Who could ask for more??

  6. How do you guys stay so thin with all that great food? Alessandro , your accent and perfect English are a treat! Thank you for coming out of retirement to tease us 🙂

  7. Oh my, that affogato!! We won't be in Florence this year, but will remember these places for next year. We already have plans to eat our way through Trastevere this fall. ❤😂😅

  8. Fantastic video! Thanks for all the new, wonderful suggestions! I’ll have to try them on my next trip to Florence. For sit down meals, the Oltrarno area is one of my favorites. By the way, how did your husband learn to speak English so well? Both your language skills are amazing!

  9. Your videos are very enjoyable and informative. We visit Florence regularly, and maybe next time, thanks to you, I will not chicken out at Pollini and actually try a lampredotto.

  10. I was eating while watching this. Until you got to the cow stomach and tripe. 🤢 I shouldn’t be snacking this late anyways.😉

  11. You may have solved a mystery for me. When we were in Capri earlier this year, we were served a sort of, I think it was a fried dough of sorts, but it had a touch of salt to its taste. Unfortunately, the language barrier kept me from finding out what it was. It was during the antipasti portion of the meal and I know it wasn't zeppoline, or I got a headshake of no. So I'm guessing it may have been Coccoli. Is that a regional food or would that be something found in say, Capri? Thanks. And again, well done Alessandro! Thank all three of you for a great video.

  12. 40 more sleeps until Italy staying outside Pisa but plan days out to Pisa, Florence and Lucca so far. When you spoke about pizzas lying in your stomach that happened to me in March when we were in Rome. Thanks for the food tour! ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
