A big part of the dream of moving to Italy is the lifestyle and pace of life. It can take a while to adapt from the fast pace of somewhere like America or the UK to actually living in it, out here in the Le Marche countryside, and learning to relax like the Italians. This video is about tuning into that pace.
Yes, there’s still a big renovation going on. But the real journey I’m on isn’t just about my house — it’s about the lifestyle. The pace of life. Learning to enjoy the small things, the quiet times, and of course this incredible Marche countryside, its coastline, their food, and of course the wine.
I hope you enjoy this one. It’s a big update with a proper look around the house, which I haven’t shown you for quite a while. I’m being pretty honest about some of the challenges I’ve faced, including a few I caused for myself. So if you’re thinking about buying and renovating a house in Italy, this one’s full of hindsight. Where do you start? Well — don’t make the mistakes I made, that’s for sure. Start with a clear plan and give yourself space and freedom to actually live in your home. Because being stuck in a building site for years is exhausting.
Now things are taking shape and my plan is in place, I can really see and feel the direction I need to head.
Quick note: you may have seen on social media that I had a knee injury. This video was filmed before that happened, so you’ll hear more about that drama in the next video or two.
Off the back of this one, I also want to show you more of Corinaldo — why I love it here, and what a beautiful hilltop town in Italy can really offer in terms of lifestyle and quality of life.
As always, message me if you have any questions. My new website is in build and should be live very soon so keep an eye on the newsletter and social channels.
I look forward to meeting you in Italy one day soon.
Cheers,
Richard.

Great vibe to this video Richard! Subbed to Italia Awaits 👍
Is the water cool? Here in the armpit known as Florida, the temp outside is 98F and the water is 88F…. No very refreshing at all! Again, THANK YOU for your vids!
I have terrible knees, been told they need replacing but that's a brutal surgery, so still thinking about it, I still have dreams of making it to Italy tho :]. really enjoy your videos,
Ease into it, than slowly back off.😊
I keep commenting as I watch the video! Lol. Marche is where i want to settle. I don’t want to be in Southern Italy, so, I’d like to find a place in a 7% tax commune in Marche. Do you have any suggestions?
Like you I’m a corporate manager, same kind of age, kid grown up and off the books, house in Italy (next County Down in Abruzzo) in need of molto renovation. Presence in England cos I gotta keep working but determined to make the Italian dream happen in some form, working with the Schengen days. It’s hard work. Like you I think I’m going slightly doolally. Keep going, post more. You’re not alone.
LOVE it! Simon & I are still looking for “the place” after being let down but watching this makes me want it more.. and asap! 😂 🙌🏻
What is the water temperature?
I retired at 60. Got the kids all through school. Like myself, they’ve studied in Italy and love visiting. I’m thinking of buying a place. I really love Rome, but it’s pricey. Look online quite a bit. The one thing I worry about is taxes so I’ll probably keep it under 183 days per year. I also probably wouldn’t want to be there in high summer. The heat is brutal. It’s hot in Chicago where I live and I’d rather take a bite out of our winters.
Looks like heavan mate … your getting on great guns
Well done 👏
"If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed." It was spoken by U.S. Navy Admiral William H. McRaven during a 2014 commencement address at the University of Texas at Austin. Thanks Marcus Aurelius. This episode is in the top ten. Thanks
Cheers to you also🍷 Niagara🇨🇦
beautiful
It can’t be all work and no play…I think it’s about finding the right rhythm. Sunflowers are amazing 😊
How refreshing to have that beach nearby. The perfect antidote after a long day’s work 🌊 You stirred my memories of growing up in San Francisco, summers spent on the beach. I was so jealous of the big Italian families with their proper dining set-ups: big table, chairs, umbrellas….and dishes! We were the big Irish family, sitting on wet, sandy towels. I’ll never forget crunching on baloney sandwiches peppered with sand!
looking better now than last year!
Enjoy the wonderful weather, forget the telly!
Love your videos. The website looks great! Congratulations. 👏
Ciao❤😂🎉
Hi, I've been following your channel from the first video , I'm a bricky from London. If you need any tips, I'll be more than happy to help with some advice on your refurb mate. Just let me know, and I'll email you…. heres a top tip when you get your type one mot delivered next. Get them to put the bags on top of each other , then all you have to do is get a meter or so of sewer pipe cut a slit in the bottom of the top bag pop pipe into hole then all you have to do is pop your barrow underneath the pipe and it will pour out , then move pipe up or if you have a 90 degree on the end rotary to stop …. it's just working smarter, not harder, bud …. I also get a 4 pint empty milk and make my drink up the night before then freeze it, and it will last all the if I keep in the shade, keep up the great work
Great to see you again. I really do enjoy you videos. I agree with @Sparky245.. forget the telly!
Be careful you don't get a copyright strike using that footage of Daniel Craig coming out of the water in Casino Royale. 😇
A more introspective vid from richard . A tidy room is a tidy mind. Those views are great. The quiets good too. When did u get that sofa?
