SOURDOUGH PIZZA RECIPE

CRUST

โ†’ 1 c active sourdough starter
โ†’ 1/2 c flour
โ†’ 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
โ†’ 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
โ†’ 1 tsp real salt
โ†’ additional flour and/or water to adjust dough

SAUCE

โ†’ 6 oz tomato paste
โ†’ ~4 oz water
โ†’ 2 cloves fresh garlic
โ†’ 2 pitted dates
โ†’ 2 tbsp basil pesto
โ†’ Sprig of fresh oregano, or 1 tsp dry
โ†’ 1 tsp real salt
โ†’ fresh cracked pepper

ASSEMBLY
โ†’ Par baked crust
โ†’ Sauce
โ†’ 8 oz. pressed mozzarella cheese, sliced
โ†’ Your fav toppings

Start the dough at least 8 hours in advance. Just mix up the ingredients, adjust the flour/water as needed, knead it, and let it ferment.

Preheat oven to 500ยฐ. Roll the dough flat with flour, poke holes with a fork, and par bake on parchment lined baking sheet for 5-10 minutes, until itโ€™s just starting to brown.

Meanwhile, make the sauce by blending all ingredients until smooth.

Prep desired toppings and mozzarella cheese. Spread the sauce on the crust and assemble your dream pizza. Bake 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown. Enjoy and be nourished!
