Hello Amigas and Amigos in this beautiful day🫡
Today my wife and I are on a serious mission… to find an authentic Portuguese restaurant around Cascais🇵🇹
Lately it feels like every place turns into a tourist spot — pretty menus, modern interiors, but where is that real Portuguese feeling? So we decided to test a place Internet recommended: Churrasqueira Do Viveiro in Estoril👀
And… well… opinions were divided 😂
The place looked nice, modern, lively… but maybe a little too polished for that old-school Portuguese tasca feeling we were hunting for.
On the menu:
🥣 Feijão Verde Soup — green bean soup to start. Warm, comforting, simple in the best way. No fireworks, but honestly very tasty and exactly what soup should be in Portugal.
🍖 Osso Buco — and wow… this one surprised us. Rich, slow-cooked, super tender, full of flavor. We were enjoying it so much… until we realized it’s actually Italian 🤣 Not exactly helping our Portuguese authenticity quest… but delicious is delicious.
🥩 Costeleta de Novilho— this one… hmm. Not our favorite. A bit too chewy and maybe I made a tactical mistake and let it cool down before finishing it(well I didn’t finish it)😅 Sometimes food wins, sometimes you lose.
🍋 Lemon Mousse — fresh, creamy, easy victory.
🍫 Chocolate Mousse — I don’t want to start drama… but this one was a complete miss here😂
✨ Overall?
Interesting place. Good food moments, some confusing moments… but not quite that authentic Portuguese experience we were searching for.
👉 Verdict:
• Feijão Verde Soup — simple and tasty 👍
• Osso Buco — absolute winner (even if Italy stole the show 🇮🇹😂)
• Costeleta de Novilho — 50/50, don’t know if it should be like that🤷♂️
• Lemon Mousse — approved 🍋
• Chocolate Mousse — mission failed 🍫🤣
Overall score: 50/50 — would I come back? Maybe. Did we find authentic Portugal? Not yet.
So the search continues 🫡
If you know hidden local gems around Cascais / Estoril where Portuguese people actually go — leave your recommendations below👇 We want proper Portuguese vibes, traditional food, and places that still feel local.
And I see you next time!
Tchau! 🇵🇹

THE MISSION: Help me launch "Million Places: The Meat Joint" (Goal: 2027)🚨
Amigos and Amigas, the journey is getting real. I’m moving from the kitchen to the streets! I am officially starting the work to open my own Cooked Meat Stall here in Portugal: Million Places: The Meat Joint🇵🇹🔥
My goal is to have the hatch open and the food ready in 2027. I am building this from the ground up—no investors, no big budget, just hard work and this community. I’m going to document every single part of this journey over the next year: the search for the best local ingredients, the legal hurdles, the build-out, and finally, the first day we serve you.
I need your help to make this happen.
If you’ve followed my journey and want to see this meat stall come to life, you can support the project here:

THE FOUNDERS' CLUB:
To thank everyone who helps me during this launch phase:
1. Leave your name in the payment note! ✍️
2. I am creating a "Wall of Founders" plaque that will be permanently displayed at my stall. Your name will be engraved there so everyone knows who built this place.
3. LIFETIME DISCOUNT: Every "Founding Member" on that wall gets 20% OFF my food FOREVER. You helped me start, so you’ll always be family at my stall.
Thank you for being part of this🙏❤️— André
Wuhuu new video👏! Gonna watch it with my family later today 🤙
(Btw, we went a few days ago to Catavento to try the bolo the bolacha there. Really good)
🥳🥳🥳
Tascas are going extinct tbh…
Acontece. Também fui a alguns restaurantes, sai desiludido e com fome. Posso ir convosco à Letónia?(e apresentar me uma amiga)😁 Vai ser bom regressar à vossa pátria, divirtam se!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
The Osso Bucco is definitely the highlight of the le meal. but i'm not sure on the rice.
I would have personally prefer a light potato purée.
I would also have chosen the lemon mousse to finish the meal.
I'm not a massive fan of chocolate mousse in the summer.
Thanks for posting the video, have a nice week !
Green bean soup is very good.
Maria is right, mass tourism ruins the authenticity of everything.
What beautiful chops, a big man needs food.
Ossobuco (also known in Portugal as shank with bone) is a cut of beef taken from the leg of the ox, cut into transverse slices that expose a circular bone with marrow in the center.
Don't put piri piri on everything, it takes away the flavor of the meats, everything tastes like chili pepper.
You are a lucky man, Maria is a very beautiful woman, how good that you have found your balance again.
A good chocolate mousse requires eggs, chocolate, and butter.
Slowly melt the butter with the pieces of chocolate, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, and once the chocolate is slightly cooled, gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate in portions.
The amount of sugar to be added depends on the sugar content of the chocolate; the more bitter the chocolate, the more sugar you'll need.
I sometimes add cookies, either chocolate or other types, to make it more consistent.
I love to eat it chilled, and if possible, with a hint of an alcoholic beverage.
Awesome find!
I got one for you in Cascais:
"A Nova Estrela""
I had the Bife á Casa, amazing!
Sorry but no… Ossobuco is a cut from the leg of the cow. And ossobuco estufado is a portuguese dish.. and arroz de enchidos too… So, not Italian 😉
Im Portuguese, im from the north ( minho) im glad you do this videos from our cousine, we need to preserve our cousine . You are very welcome ( we dont need imigrants that want to change my (our) country)

Rua do Viveiro. Duas correcções: Amoreira (singular) e Monte Estoril. 😂
bro ate the whole 2 meals kkkkk xD jk

That's a good enough reason not to go there. That's not sopa de feijão-verde. I'd send it back and would walk away.
Sopa de feijão-verde is made with flat fat green beans pods cut slanted about 1cm thick.
The same type of pods used uncut for peixinhos da horta.
Boa tarde, bom apetite.👌
Eduardo das Conquilhas in Parede Cascais – seafood restaurant open since 1965
You asked for bread at a meal, that was the last check on your visa application, you are now officially Portuguese. Just need to start complaining about politicians and longing for the good old days and your set.
The best of Osso Bucco is the Marrow inside the bone. Being slow cooked the marrow melts into the food and gives flavor, but if there's any left scoop it up! and its an Italian dish, rare in Portugal usually in some Steak houses.
why did you eat half her plate lol
Very entertaining video, even if the food was not dez de dez.
It’s good to know what to order or not. Looking forward to your video. Have a safe flight and enjoy!
Pãozinho com a sopa… Mesmo à tuga 👌💪👏
Good to see you two leaning in again.
