I’m back in Italy. Eight weeks away, and honestly, the break did me the world of good. Coming back has reminded me just how beautiful Le Marche is and how lucky I am to have a home here in Corinaldo.

This video is a proper catch-up, and it’s a packed one. Over the last eight weeks I travelled through Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Le Marche, and Tuscany, visited Bologna and Florence, I sipped wine on Lake Como and visited the Ferrari museums and — highlight of the summer — watched Lenny Kravitz play live at Firenza Rocks. What a night that was.

But it was also time with friends, time with my daughters, and time to think. It felt like a reset. And if I’m honest, this break made me realise I’d lost sight of something important: a lot of people would love to be living the life I’m living, and I’d forgotten that. I got distracted by the noise. That won’t happen again.

So — new chapter. This is style of video I want to make more of (with a little more renovation the house progresses) and I explain why during the video itself.

Thank you to BougeRV for sponsoring a section of this video. They gave me a great product that I am using most days. More on that later.

Right. Let’s get into it.

  2. I’ll be watching both channels Your presentation style and all the different content is the reason why. Carry on the great work👍🏼

  3. I'm in for both! As others have said, it's usually about the host, and you're very entertaining and endearing. I am excited to see your new content. It sounds interesting. No doubt you'll make it fun no matter what.

  4. My husband and I are the loyal followers, we’re always like: “Oh, Richard has a new video out”! We are going to Bari on the 1st of July, would love to meet you, we’re renting a car to drive around!

  5. Great to see you back Richard. I’ve followed you from day one and will continue whatever you choose to do with your channel. I consider the host to be the most important. You can show me a miriade of content that I’m interested in but if I don’t context with you I’m out. Just keep doing you Richard.

  6. I adore Europe for all you have highlighted in the drive. Such diversity, beauty and culture. Within relatively easy reach. As an Aussie we don’t get that easily, we’re so far away….

  7. Hi Rich, as you know I’ve been here from the beginning and I’ll happily watch it all, life isn’t picture perfect & polished and I’m glad you show all those details, as for the weeds in the comments causing you grief, a little round up will take care of them and when a new one pops up, just pluck it out and throw it on the pile. Subscribed to the new channel happy to support wherever I can. Happy belated birthday, I’m glad you got to spend it with the girls. 🫶🏻 Shell 🇦🇺

  8. Richard, I am going to watch both because you are hot, fun to watch and no BS. I think with you what you see is what you get, and I bet everyone loves the rambling.

  9. Richard, I am going to watch both channels because you are hot, informative, fun to watch and no BS. I think with you, what you see is what you get, and I bet everyone loves the rambling. I do.

  10. What, on average, do your round trip driving co$t you in petrol, tolls, ferries each trip ?
I subscribed to 'Italia Awaits!' Great Name!

  11. Great to see you back!
What a great idea, a 2nd channel! Absolutely love the idea.
Looking forward to watching it 😊
    Welcome back 🤗

  12. I have been here since your first few videos and enjoy all of your content. I think you have found a good balance between informative content related to buying and renovating a property in Italy and sharing the lifestyle and local culture with viewers. Plus you have good banter

  13. When you upload, I watch.
My interests are what you're doing to renovate the property, inside & out but you're right; 10 minutes of plumbing or bricklaying isn't what I'm here for.
Having said that, I do like your travel content too.

  14. Gosh, hearing you say where you are stopping for rests and lunch cracks me up. I'm Aussie, we drive that far to just get to different coloured dirt and different animals that harm us. 😂 I am so jealous.
How long did the road trip take?
Was that a train you were on with the car? Fascinating. Hola from Australia 🇦🇺

  15. I just went to Italia Awaits and subscribed. Nice to see you spreading out to find the various trails you want to explore and share. Get out there and find what ticks your clock. And yes, please share your finds and updates via both channels. We’re still out here rooting for you – and the baby olive trees. 🍷🍷🌸🌺

  16. Good to have you back, man. We all know the burnout feeling. Great vid. Italia Awaits seems like a good idea. I personally have watched all the vids, no matter the direction.

  17. I've been following from the beginning. Sometimes I pause not because I don't like your content but because a part of me feels sad or jealous that I haven't come closer to my goal, as I felt when first seeing your story, that's my honesty. I'm 41, married and our kids are little, so things are different.
I love how you do things. It's real. I hate it when others drag out content for views. We don't know you, we aren't friends but I bet a lot of us here care about your life as well as your updates on the house and information you share, you have a good mix in my opinion as your visits aren't a holiday as such, you are living there also.
Please do a drone long drawn-out video maybe plain music for Pomodoro (studying). Followed your other channel. Also, you need a large print of your view for your home in the U.K. so when you're there, you see why.
    Hola from Australia. 🇦🇺

  18. Interesting. I have never perceived you that way!
You always seem positive and you actually speak very highly of Italy and your experiences there. Its okay to call out the poo poo and life does get exhausting and in the way from time to time. Bottom line, keep living life large, you are doing a great job at it! Learned a lot from you.

  19. We waved in your general direction a few weeks back on our way down the coast. ( you probably weren't there)
I've switched my viewing to more "Italian living/lifestyle/home renovation/etc" channels and away from real estate ( many many many channels, now only follow one or two for the community aspect, although I did find our house in Abruzzo on one of them)
I am back home in the states now, hubster still there, but burocracy-mmmmm-yeah-that. We went when we did because we were told signing was immenant. Not so much, still waiting 😢 maybe by fall? At least he's in the house finally, but all he can do is clean and start on the land/grounds.
Carry on, we will keep following along.

  20. Sometimes when you’re behind the camera all the time you can miss the best moments that are not always right in front of you. Going to a concert and not filming it, switching off from technology, being present in the moment. You need to enjoy the everyday and not focus on the heavy that can come with it, as there are so many good things going on. 😊

  21. The house project is just content. The channel is you. I think I speak for the majority saying, YOU are the reason we come back every time we get an alert of a new video, and the reason we watch over again. We are just watching a real dude, doing real dude things while chasing his dream. We are vicariously I’d say. The pic you showed with your daughters, that’s the goal in your life. As a proud girl dad, I appreciate you sharing that side of your life. I’m in the same boat with one child who happens to be a girl. Happy life it is. My wife and I are planning a move to either Spain or Italy, and I’d say Italy seems to be in the lead for different reasons. Immigration for Iberian citizens is what keeps us looking at Spain. The beauty of an Italy, though………
Again, Richard, thank you for coming back and look forward to subscribing to your new channel.

  22. So glad you're back! I enjoy all your videos and haven't been bored on any of them! Have to say though, glad for the haircut! Loved the Ferrari museum, very cool cars. Keep the videos coming, I always check when you put out a new one! Love from Texas. Claudie
