Garlic powder on everything.
Apparently that’s what Italian food means in America.

The biggest misconception Americans have about Italy? That if there’s no garlic, we don’t know how to cook.
Which is honestly absurd. In real Italian cooking, garlic is a base. You put it in, you let it flavor the oil, and then you take it out. It’s not the star of the dish.

And garlic powder? Don’t even get us started. It sticks to everything and never lets go. Have you ever ordered “Italian food” in America and not recognized it at all?
