My first shot at making house-wife style pizza. My nonna immigrated from Italy 50 years ago. While raising 3 kids, her and my nonno worked extremely long days every day to provide them a wonderful life. My grandmother cooked in a retirement home, and she was beloved for a lot of her recipes. She is also beloved by her grandkids for her incredible variety of food. I grew up with my grandparents tending the garden they had for decades, every year like clockwork making homemade wine, sugo, sopresatta and mellanzane amongst other things. My nonnas recipes are many, but this pizza casalinga "house wife" pizza was always one of my favorites. A thin, crispy dough (hers was typically more airy than mine) home made sugo, genoa salami, white onions, and mushrooms. Came out phenomenal. Was even better because she taught me how to do this over FaceTime. I hope you all enjoy!
