Detroit has a reputation for being dangerous, dirty and abandoned. We decided to challenge that reputation and go to Detroit ourselves. What we saw changed our perspective.

Detroit is different! Some incredibly friendly people. We loved seeing it with our good new mate Will. We hope you enjoy the video! If you do, make sure to hype it on your mobile! That seems to be the only way YouTube actually shows videos to anyone nowadays… Happy Sunday everyone ❤
Hope he takes then by Sherwiod Forrest, Indian Village, Palmerwoods…………….
Yeah yeah. Its all wonderful. Long as ya dont wander about. Get a flat. Take a wrong turn. What are you selling here. Haaa
Welcome to Michigan! 🎉

As a resident of Detroit your tour guide knew little about Detroit. It doesn’t take hours for ems and police. We have super markets and it’s not a good desert.
Im from Metro Detroit area. We can have an attitude due to our parents losing jobs mainly due to automation and jobs shifting elsewhere. There's a known saying we have here, "Detroit Versus Everybody". This doesn't mean we are hostile, it's more of just a hardworking attitude.
Nice video, but that comment about where you live in the city dictates weather you are in a populated area, may have happened during the Dave Bing administration, but not anymore.
Some of the places that was showed was in highland park, that’s not Detroit
Thank you. Many people do tours of Detroit's ghettos for a confirmation bias. When you mention that we have Belle Isle, a Grand Prix, a PGA tournament, neighborhoods like Indian Village, Palmer Park, Rosedale Park, and a host of other attractions, people from other states and countries look at you like you're crazy because they've only ever seen the worst of Detroit.
I hate to burst your bubble but that guy only showed you downtown and the nicer parts of the city. This is not an accurate depiction of Detroit. Even the "outskirts" he showed you that were run down, definitely not even close to the worst parts of the city. I live in the burbs of Detroit but I work in the city. I've been here my whole life, 46 years and Detroit is a war zone in most every place this guy didn't show you. The reason there's no grocery stores in the city is because it would be nothing but problems for them. Crime is rampant. To much theft and violence outside of downtown.
You should fact check that first claim because the fire department absolutely shows up.
I suppose this wouldn't have been a "feel good" video had the man informed them that Detroit was booming and fine until guess who flooded in and basically ate it alive like a cancer. THAT is what destroyed Detroit. Auto makers moving my aaa, red lines my aaa, THEY are why Detroit fell.
❤hmu next time your in detroit. Wish I had known you were coming.
That's what democrat ran cities does, they run the jobs out of town and create lawlessness and then people move out of the city, once was the greatest city in America
I’m from Detroit. This “tour” was okay but what bothers me is that most people who are showing outsiders our city, NEVER go to some of the better neighborhoods. They always go to a more rundown area. They don’t show people Palmer Woods, Sherwood Forest, Rosedale Park, Indian Village, Boston Edison or any of the other beautiful, well kept neighborhoods that are actually INSIDE the city. Downtown and one rundown neighborhood and that’s about it. And THIS video didn’t even showcase Downtown very well either. I don’t have a YT channel but I wish I did.
Go East Side !! A once great neighborhood!! Gone
Verners is not made in Detroit anymore. You should be drinking Faygo.
I want to adore y'all but wouldn't you be upset if someone went to Europe and "nothing was as they thought"?
With a historical peak that grandiose, you need humble expectations for a "comeback." You're not getting the Roman Empire back, but you might get Italy some day.
🍀🍀😘
Starting the video blowing the hand shake is crazy 😂
17:25 San Francisco is not becoming what Detroit was 20 years ago. Not even close.
Thank you so much for showing off some of Detroit. I've lived here my entire life and think it's a great place. It makes me upset when I see how the "internet" views Detroit as this terrible scary place.
A few years after the end of WWII, while fighting the war the US noticed the German freeway system. After the war, in the early to mid 1950s, the US decided to replace the US "route" system and started building the US "freeway" system. Seeing this, in the early 1950s the city fathers decided against building a metro Detroit subway rapid transit system and instead started cropping up downtown Detroit with freeways. Then many city fathers purchased farm land on Detroit's borders and run freeways in these areas. This started the decline of Detroit's population. Today there are massive populations that during the 1950s when Detroit's population was approaching 1.9 million after this, Detroit's population started it's decline.
Emergency response times have improved a lot in the last decade or so. High-priority calls average about 10 minutes response time, if your house is burning down that’s a high priority call. The fire department specifically has an average response time of 7 min 30 sec which is good. It is true though that lower priority, non life-threatening emergencies do see very long response times still or no show at all. Basically we’re at a place where we’re sacrificing response times for lower priority calls in order to make sure we’re getting to the high priority ones. Not good but better than long response times for everything like before.
Detroit is amazing, grew up north of it in Pontiac but spent tons of my time there. Very proud of Detroit and its comeback, it deserves it. ❤️
Grand River.
Dont eat mc donalds

Michigan doesn’t need more taxes – we just need our politicians to stop abusing our money!
Sorry to tell you but your guide is not very good
Comerica Park was definitely before Ford Field by around 5 years.
This was a lovely meditation on our city! Thank you!
My comments keep getting scrubbed. What's going on here guys?
Hope you enjoyed my home!
anyone that talks shit on detroit has never been here
Comerica was before Ford Field.
Or you can tell the truth that Mayor coleman young and the other bwacks destroyed it like every other place they dwell. Coming to a city near you
