Throughout the ages, cabbage and onions have sustained peoples across the globe.
Coming to us from Italy, this recipe originates in the deepest and darkest and most forgotten times. Back when life was simpler, yet physically harder. This is a farmer’s dish; a meal made from what was available. What was available was often, not much.
This recipe turned out so well, so tasty, I think it would be a perfect side dish for an American Southern Barbecue. I can see this side by side with mac & cheese and some pork ribs!
1 Cabbage
1 Large Sweet Onion
1 C Olive Oil
4 OZ Tomato Paste
2 TBSP Sea Salt
2 TSP Smoked Parika
2/3 Bottle White Italian Wine ( I used Frascati. Recommend this one for this recipe.)
1 Can Cannellini Beans
