Send this to your boyfriend before he plans Italy 😤

Our last day in Florence was supposed to be perfect. Six plans. Three fell apart. And somehow it was still the best day of the trip.

Here’s what actually happened on Day 3 in Florence:
We skipped the Leaning Tower of Pisa for a Chianti wine tour (zero regrets). Got rejected at one of Florence’s most iconic restaurants because we didn’t book ahead. Ordered a cappuccino after 11 AM and the locals made sure we knew about it. Hunted for Florence’s 150 wine windows on a Sunday when most were closed. Tried to see Michelangelo’s David at Galleria dell’Accademia — sold out a month in advance. Boboli Gardens — same story. And then Florence decided to paint the sky over the Duomo on our last evening like a farewell gift we didn’t deserve.

Lesson learned — some of the best travel days are the ones that don’t go to plan.

If you’re planning a Florence trip, here’s what we wish someone told us:

→ Book restaurants at least a day in advance
→ Galleria dell’Accademia tickets sell out weeks ahead — don’t wait
→ Don’t order cappuccino after 11 AM unless you enjoy death stares
→ Wine windows exist and you need to find one
→ Always leave room for no plans at all
Oh and public transport went on strike the next morning. Our train day. Follow to see how that went because it was a disaster movie in real time.
Save this for your Italy trip planning. Share it with whoever is “handling the bookings” — they need this more than you do.
