After 20 years in London, we bought a house in Tuscany, Italy, and are starting a new life in a small Italian village near Cetona, in the province of Siena. In this video, we take you inside our Tuscan village home for a full house tour, room by room — and share how much we paid for it.

This is our first proper look inside the house we chose in southern Tuscany, close to the Umbria border, and the beginning of our renovation journey. Over time, this will become our full-time home in Italy and a boutique guest retreat, Casallegra ✨

If you’re dreaming of moving to Italy, buying a house in Tuscany, or living in an Italian village, subscribe and follow along.

  2. Wow – what a find!! Where in Tuscany is it located? My husband and I are going to Tuscany next month in hopes of finding a second home there.

  3. Ciao Marta & Dan! Thank you for the lovely thorough tour…it's just as lovely as I thought from the start and the garden will be a delight!
I think the idea of the Casa Allegra flag is cool…flags are such a Tuscan (Italian) thing so I think it would be very pretty!
You will be kept busy indeed but as someone who is working on their 14th home, I love that kind of busy. Best wishes to you both and alla prossima! 🥰🤗💖

  4. Hello from Brisbane Australia. I’m really enjoying your videos so congratulations on buying the beautiful house. Condolences for the loss of your Mum so what a lovely tribute to her . Good luck ❤

  5. Hello from Qld Australia 😊 your safe looks like a dual key safe – I think I spied another recessed keyhole to the right of the one you put the key in. That was a common security feature on safes so that at least two parties (with two keys) needed to be present with both their keys for the safe to be opened. If you have another key, it’s hopefully not a duplicate but rather for the secondary keyhole. 🤞🏼

  6. Hello from Israel! Congratulations on your beautiful house, good luck! A very effective and easy way to deal with the white mold you have in your kitchen is to clean it first (with gloves, facial mask and clear protective glasses), and then to spay it with vinegar. The acidity of the vinegar kills the bacteria, it’s very easy and safe way to get rid of it immediately. Let it air dry, you can do it few times over. In Italy you can easily find vinegar sold already in a spray bottle, I know humidity in houses is a common problem, and probably many people use it.

  7. Congratulations to you both on your beautiful Casa. It is beautiful now but I am so excited to see how you will transform it with your flare. Best of luck to you both. I love everything about it.

  8. Direi che avete fatto un ottimo acquisto, unito al vostro buon gusto verrà fuori una casa spaziale, aspetto con ansia( positiva) gli sviluppi..mi raccomando fate video😊😊🎉🎉🎉

  9. Would the rack in the kitchen be used for drying herbs?
Plaster cracking maybe due to not using lime plaster. This allows the building to dry out.

  10. I also loove the kitchen so much (well I like the 50s touch anyway), and the garden is so charming! The granaio, with bigger windows, would be my ideal art studio. I bet your mom would love this house.❤ PS: the price ist is DEFINITELY a steal.

  11. Such a beautiful and charming home!! Congratulations on your new home and journey!! I look forward to seeing all the improvements!! You have some lovely pieces of furniture.

  12. Absolutely amazing guys! 👏 I've loved watching the whole search, and now to see the place in full, its just stunning.

  13. Thanks so much for the tour and the info on costs. 💯 You guys are awesome and Casallegra will reveal itself to you as you spend more time there. In Bocca al Lupo 🥰

  14. Once the clothes horse were above the kitchen stove, where it makes more sense…

    Your house is gorgeous! ❤️❤️❤️

  15. Devastating to see the wine tanks appear to be empty…. 🙂
Flooring – if its pavers, there are machines that cut and polish the old surface perfectly level which would explain the finish.
Damp – Exposed stone or correct lime render allows the walls to breathe and will prevent sections flaking off. This commonly happens when plastered/concreted and painted over.
Bed demonstration – may not be appropriate content for this platform!
If one day you would like a block of land nearby there are incredibly cheap non-buildable blocks available, try mentioning that you are looking to all your neighbours and friends, someone will know someone selling. These are often not advertised and too low value for the agents to bother, plus 99% of (especially foreign) buyers want a place with a house or at least building permission.
    Love the house. Congratulations.

  16. Really enjoyed the tour, thank you excellent filming. What an amazing amount of space there is! You brought it for an excellent price and love your big plans it will look beautiful ❤❤

  17. Loved this walk-through! House has so much potential and your ideas sound great. I love that you bought in a village – will be a great community experience for your guests. Congrats! 🤎🤍

  18. No, scusami, but “tinaia” is the room with the wine tanks. Tinaia isn’t a court yard unless there are more viniculture things involved with wine making there. It’s likely you asked “whats out there” and the owner said the Tinaia, and you interpreted it to be the courtyard. It’s how Italians think—the Tinaia is out there. Easy to misinterpret. Great house! I’m Italian by decent and fluent, lived there for a year and a half and that was enough for me. I can’t deal with the burocracy. And any man that saves a tree to protect a nest is a keeper, girl! Great video, enjoyed it—what a steal! That was a great find for the price. (You’ll have to resave the house with the windows open, that’s how it’s done, so the spirits can leave. Otherwise, you just tormented the or angered them while trapping them!)

  19. ✨Excuse the mistake in calling the courtyard “tinaia” which isn’t correct. The tinaia is in fact the area where the wine tanks are✨

  20. What a fantastic tour! And great timing for me because tomorrow I sign the compromesso at the notaio! 🎉 Really appreciate all the details and history you mentioned. 🇮🇹 Pedro has lots of investigations to do!

  21. WOW … LOVE LOVE LOVE this house! I can not believe you got ALL that house for $140k … WOW!!! You did very well. I can't wait to see what you do with the property, so much to work with in pretty good condition. All in a lovely town.
