Hey folks! Just wanted to share a re-cap from the pizza crawl this weekend!

We visited:

LTD PIZZA – https://www.instagram.com/ltdpizza/

First stop: LTD Pizza where owners John Villa, Michael D'Armi and Dennis Arakelian and the team are doing something truly special. This isn't your average slice shop — LTD is a gourmet pizzeria that takes the humble slice and elevates it into something you genuinely need to experience.

We're talking about the Truffle Cacio e Pepe — a luxurious, indulgent bite loaded with Fontina, Asiago, and Pecorino, finished with a house truffle spread, a drizzle of Saba, and cracked pepper. Rich, bold, and absolutely unforgettable.

And for those who like a little fire, the Arrabbiata is calling your name — Long Hots, Calabrian Chili, and Vidalia Onion piled onto a gorgeous tomato base with Mozzarella and Parmigiano. It's got heat, it's got soul, and it's going to slap.

But the slices are just the beginning. LTD's full menu — appetizers, fresh salads, sandwiches, and desserts — means there's something incredible around every corner.

Fermento – https://www.instagram.com/fermentonyc/

Just when you thought the West Village couldn't possibly need another slice shop — enter Fermento Pizza, 226 Varick St., and prepare to have your mind changed.

Brothers Michael and Franco Vendome opened their doors in late 2025, and in just a matter of months, they've become one of the most buzzed-about names in the West Village pizza scene. The secret weapon? A 72-hour fermented dough crafted with premium Italian ingredients that produces a slice with incredible depth of flavor and texture. Add in a rotating lineup of creative specials, and it's no wonder pizza lovers have been lining up to get a taste.

But here's where the story gets really good.

A couple of weeks ago, the Fermento team packed their bags and headed to Pizza Expo in Las Vegas — the world's largest annual trade show for the pizza industry — and stepped into the ring against over 100 of the world's best pizza makers in the World's Best Cheese Slice competition. Two grueling days of competition later, they walked away with the crown: Best Cheese Slice — Northeast Region. 🏆

Slicehaus – https://www.instagram.com/slicehauspizzeria/

The West Village has long been ground zero for some of the greatest pizza in New York City. Legendary slice shops line these streets, and the competition is fierce. Most aspiring pizzaiolos would think twice — or three times — before setting up shop just a block away from the icons. But Agostino Cangiano isn't most people.

When Agostino came to America from Italy, he arrived with a dream, a relentless work ethic, and an unshakeable belief in his craft. He paid his dues, worked his way through some of NYC's finest restaurants, and eventually found himself at the legendary L'Industrie — one of the most celebrated slice shops in the city.

But like so many great immigrants before him, working for someone else was never the final destination. Owning something of his own — building something from scratch — was always the goal.

So when the right moment arrived, Agostino did what the greats do: he bet on himself. He opened Slicehaus, planting his flag right in the heart of the West Village, and got to work proving that he belongs among the best.

And the pizza? It speaks for itself. Agostino's philosophy is simple — source the finest ingredients and let them shine. The result is extraordinary. His traditional NYC slices boast perfectly crispy, caramelized edges that snap with every bite, while his square slices feature an open, airy crumb structure so light and airy it could give some West Village apartments a run for their money.
