There’s a new “best pizza in the world”… and it’s NOT from Italy.
Global culture site Time Out just released its ranking of the world’s best pizzas — and the top spot goes to New York City.
Number one? The Cacio e Pepe slice from Mama’s Too. Loaded with whipped mascarpone, Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano Reggiano, aged mozzarella, and cracked pepper, it’s basically a cheese lover’s dream.
Italy DID snag second place, thanks to the Capricciosa from 180grammi Pizzeria, a crispy Roman-style pie topped with ham, mushrooms, olives, artichokes, and egg.
But here’s where it gets controversial…
The THIRD best pizza in the world is in London. Yes, London. Short Road Pizza’s Marinara — topped with pomodoro, burrata, Sicilian anchovies, chimichurri, and garlic purée — landed the bronze spot. Cue the Italian outrage.
Of course, “best” is always subjective… but this list is definitely sparking debate.
So tell us — what’s the best pizza YOU’ve ever had, and where was it?
