Hi! in this video I shall be sharing my version of marinara sauce. It is an Italian style tomato based sauce that can be used as pizza sauce, pasta sauce, or as a base for many Italian dishes. I will show you how I use this sauce in future videos.
Ingredients:
6 Ripe tomatoes – medium sized
1 onion – very finely chopped medium sized/ ¼ cup
Garlic – very finely chopped 1 tablespoon
Basil (dried) – 1 tsp
Oregano (dried) – 2 tsp
Chilli Flakes – 2 tsp
Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1 tsp ( optional )
Black pepper powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tablespoon
Vinegar – 1 tablespoon
Oil 2- 3 tablespoons
Directions
Finely chop onion and garlic .
Slit tomatoes diagonally.
Boil then for 5 – 6 minutes , peel once cooled and puree in blender.
Heat oil in pot add onion and garlic and saute for 1½ minutes.
Add Kashmiri red chilli powder mix and add tomato puree.
Keep flame on high and add rest of the ingredients cook for 3-4 minutes.
Reduce the flame to medium and cooke further for 5 minutes or until reduced to half.
Transfer in a jar and store in refrigerator.
Note :
If you dont have basil and oregano use 2 teaspoons of seasoning that comes with pizza in restaurant
You can store this in the refrigerator for 10 – 15 days.
