Inside Vinyl Steakhouse — a New York City steakhouse surrounded by more than 3,000 vinyl records, where guests can listen to music while enjoying dinner.

In this video, I visit Vinyl Steakhouse to experience what it’s like to eat in a space where food, music, and ’60s & ’70s rock-and-roll culture come together in a way that feels very different from a typical steakhouse. The system powering the music features equipment from Music Hall, Ortofon, Totem Acoustic, and Crestron.

  1. I find that a nice pink chablis goes well with Hooverphonic. Jana's video editing is always quite good.

  2. What an awesome place! Love more content from you, keep it up, you are the best hifi youtuber by far. Unrivaled cinematography.

  3. seems a bit hard to believe that "people come from around the world" to listen to his mid-fi system 😉

  4. I'm glad Jana mentioned River of Dreams! I'm sure she must have enjoyed the HBO documentary on Billie's life. It was incredible.

  5. Jana, another restaurant / listening bar of interest featuring gourmet italian cuisine is Barcola Bistro Audio in Montréal. The equipment is strictly high end vintage. Records are DJ'd by the wife. The husband is the master chef. Met them both at the Solon Audio show years ago that they attend every year. Very impressed by your video presentation especially your review of the audio menu especially the missing LPs. Many thanks indeed :).

  6. The importance of your work cannot be overstated. This is not about expensive stuff bought by old guys having too much money and bad taste, but about lifestyle, music, a little bit technology and nostalgia. This should be the future of HiFi, creating beautiful memories. And I am sure it will be. Thank you Jana for bringing the right vibes to HiFi. Greetings from Berlin

  7. love seeing your pro editing skills in your videos, when are we going to see your home and your current audio system? will you branching out into a reviewer soon? its too much of a boys club still…unfortunately.

  8. Our teen and I have taken a few trips to NYC to explore. Twice we've been to Vinyl, and twice the experience has been excellent. Of course, the music is awesome, but what really impressed me was the service. And when our kid asked questions and engaged with the server and manager, they spoke to them like an adult. This really meant a lot to our kid. We live in rural WNC, and teens are usually spoken down to, and an LGBTQ kid is ignored or worse. Between discussing music with the staff and being actually respected, it meant the world to them. Next trip we'll be back!

  9. This video would have been much better without the corny YouTube elevator music in the background. Can I just hear the man speak about his establishment without this cringe “royalty free” soundtrack?

  10. I happy to see this place get some coverage! I work at a local hifi store and Kevin has me do a check up the tables a few times a year. He's a great guy and he certainly knows how to craft a one of a kind dining experience! I haven't had the pleasure of eating there, but I have at his other location, Vinile Chophouse, a block away and I can safely say it was one of the best meals of my entire life (though I admit I'm not one who can often afford to enjoy NYC fine dining)

  11. I would have said: You have 3,000 plus oversized pointless and outdated frisbees. Where are your better sounding, more compact and digital CDs? Knowing the answer already after proving my point, I would have left and never came back. Restaurants need to serve food, and not outdated, beaten, useless, dead and pointless propaganda and media.

  12. I need that stuff where I live too. Would it be nice too just sit there by yourself and eat food and listen to some music?

  13. That's funny my name is Kevin and I have a music hall mmf 7.3 turntable, love the video, very nice set up! Good seeing you Jana! Happy listening ❤️
