  1. On of the things I love most about Lidia’s shows is that she often shows herself learning. It’s very inspiring.

  2. We used to call tomato based calm chowder Manhattan clam chowder; and the cream version, New England clam chowder. ❤

  3. When you live in a fish and seafood State as I do Clam Chowder is a must have all year long, no matter if it clams , Lobster, fish with or without tomato in it , chowder is welcomed all the time, In Rhode Island The clam or l Quahog is KING in my State!!!!

  4. I love living in Colorado, but one of the few downsides is the lack of fresh seafood. It gets flown in, so it’s still pretty good, but not as good as it is on the coast.

  5. I just made this for Sunday dinner. I have to make adjustments because I have food allergies in my old age. No garlic or onion. I can only have Cento tomato puree from a can. Fresh tomatoes I can have one Roma tomato a day, because tomatoes have sugars, which is the source of the allergy. Also RAOs makes a perfect sauce especially for this condition. So I use seasonings, like oregano, chives, parsley and basil. I did not have the hearty bread so I used ditalini pasta. And made toasted croutons for the topping. So yummy! Grazie!

  6. I’m from East Hampton, but I don’t think this is the south shore your on, maybe the west shore. My uncle used to clam out in Amagansett for cherry stones, little necks, lots of stuff. My aunt always cooked seafood a lot. I used to get muscles at fresh pond. My mother cooked them with wine very deliciously.

  7. My tastebuds approve of this recipe! 😋 yum 🤤 yum 😋 ❤ I want some Lidia, you’re a tease!

  8. Meant to mention I grew up on West coast of Florida and we used to get coquinas and make soup from them ! So much fun and great memories …
