There’s nothing more disappointing than preparing for a big night at an Italian restaurant and being let down by your fettuccine Alfredo. “Everything will be okay.” That’s why we’re here to show you the restaurants that do this dish right … and those that don’t.
While Bertucci’s dishes have been inspired by family recipes, not all of the chain’s items follow tradition. Several offerings at this place feature contemporary twists that incorporate alternative ingredients, including the fettuccine Alfredo. Rather than following the traditional fettuccine Alfredo recipe, the Bertucci’s version of
The dish is made with Pecorino Romano. Made from sheep’s milk, Pecorino Romano tends to be sharper and saltier than Parmesan, adding robustness to the pasta dish. While innovation in the kitchen can lead to new and exciting culinary experiences, Bertucci’s attempt at reinventing fettuccine Alfredo falls short of the
Mark. One diner recommends staying away from the dish, writing on Tripadvisor, “The fettuccine Alfredo was horrible! It tasted like a bowl full of noodles with milk. In addition, there was about a cup of cilantro dumped on top!! If you’re
Going to put that much cilantro on it, it should say so on the menu!” A Yelp reviewer shares this opinion: “Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the Alfredo as it was very thin and lacked flavor.” With more than 25 locations across the U.S., Bravo! Italian Kitchen has expanded significantly
Since opening its first restaurant in Columbus, Ohio in 1992. The chain prides itself on using fresh ingredients to make both classic and modern Italian dishes, including fettuccine Alfredo. Despite the wide selection, Bravo! Italian Kitchen’s fettuccine Alfredo creations haven’t received the green light from diners,
With many complaining that the pasta was too dry. One dissatisfied Yelp reviewer says: “My daughter’s fettuccine Alfredo looked like half an order of leftovers and barely had any sauce. My Pasta Woozie had virtually NO Alfredo sauce. The pasta was so dry it was sticking together on both meals.”
Another patron confirms this sad state of affairs on Yelp, saying, “The entrees, both with Alfredo sauce, were so dry it was very hard to eat them and we eventually had to doctor them up with butter and olive oil from home.” Johnny Carino’s serves both a jalapeño Alfredo sauce with its fettuccine and
A classic version of the dish. You can also add chicken or shrimp at an additional cost. Despite the variety, Johnny Carino’s’ fettuccine Alfredo hasn’t fared overly well with diners. One Yelp reviewer notes, “It was extremely runny, (like soup), it had very little taste.” Another diner also expresses disappointment on Grubhub, saying,
“The fettuccine Alfredo had almost no sauce on it whatsoever, there was hardly any let alone anywhere near enough for the amount of noodles.” “Sauce this.” According to a customer on DoorDash, the dish they received was seriously lacking in the chicken
Department, with only an estimated tablespoon and a half of the protein in their order. The Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant loves its Alfredo sauce. Aside from Fettuccine Alfredo, Grilled Chicken Alfredo, and Shrimp Alfredo, the chain also offers several other Alfredo-packed dishes, including its signature 15-layer Classic Lasagna with Alfredo Sauce.
Despite its focus on Alfredo sauce, the restaurant’s take on fettuccine Alfredo has received a lukewarm response at best. While one Yelp reviewer has called the dish excellent and a good value, they are in the minority. The main complaint from diners is that it’s tasteless. As one unhappy DoorDash reviewer explains:
“The sauce was extremely bland, had no flavor at all, the noodles were way overcooked and tasted like pure water.” One Grubhub customer thought the dish was so flavorless that they had to season their own meal at the table. Fazoli’s fettuccine Alfredo is made with Parmesan, garlic, and Italian herbs. Meanwhile,
The chain’s Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo comes with Parmesan and oven-roasted chicken breast. The dish has earned mixed feedback from diners, with some enjoying it and others finding it seriously lacking. One reviewer on Facebook calls the pasta dish delicious while
Another user goes as far as saying that they would love to get their hands on the recipe. On the downside, a Tripadvisor reviewer says that the pasta was soupy on the bottom, adding, “[It was] so runny that it didn’t even resemble creamy sauce. What a waste of money!”
A Grubhub review is even more damning, saying, “The Alfredo tasted old and had a mildewing taste.” “Fettuccine in a flash. All for just a little bread.” Established in 1969 by a husband and wife duo, The Old Spaghetti Factory offers a distinctive
Dining experience in converted warehouses and other historic buildings. The interiors of these restaurants are often noted for their antique and eclectic decorations, including vintage booths and trolley cars. In terms of food, The Old Spaghetti Factory offers a menu focused primarily on Italian
Cuisine, with an emphasis on spaghetti dishes. One of these is Fettuccine Alfredo, made with butter, cream, and Romano cheese. Alfredo sauce also appears in the chain’s other dishes, such as Spinach Tortellini with Alfredo Sauce and Breast of Chicken Fettuccine. While some reviewers have praised The Old Spaghetti Factory Fettuccine Alfredo,
Others haven’t been quite as enthusiastic. The biggest complaint has been that the chain’s Alfredo sauce is … well … bland. One patron says on Yelp: “The fettuccine Alfredo waaaas.. underwhelming? A little bland? It wasn’t bad. I was just expecting a little more flavor but I still ate it all.”
Another Yelp reviewer concurs, saying, “My fettuccine Alfredo was bland and there was a huge ball of unmelted cheese.” What sets Olive Garden apart from the other chains is its impressive selection of fettuccine dishes, offering five distinct versions of this classic pasta. Aside from its standard Fettuccine Alfredo with butter, Parmesan, cream, and garlic,
The company also offers versions of the dish with chicken, shrimp, chicken tortelloni, and seafood. Unfortunately, even though Olive Garden diners may be spoiled for choice, the restaurant’s fettuccine Alfredo dishes haven’t hit the mark with everyone. While some reviewers describe the pasta as their favorite, others have expressed dissatisfaction,
Saying that the sauce is overly runny and insufficient for the amount of pasta served. One Reddit user who posted a less-than-inspiring photo of Olive Garden’s Fettuccine Alfredo with unmixed blobs of Alfredo sauce received a very interesting response from an alleged former Olive Garden employee.
“I would NEVER have let anything that looked like that leave our kitchen […] I used to vet all of my orders so I’m supremely upset that your food was served like that.” “The yo-yos at home think that Olive Garden is this magical place.”
Given that Rosebud boasts just nine outlets in Illinois, with a 10th location planned for Florida, it’s understandable if this classic Italian restaurant has escaped your attention. As such, it may come as a surprise that the first Rosebud restaurant opened way back in 1976 on Taylor Street in Chicago’s Little Italy.
Today, Rosebud isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, with a menu packed with pastas, salads, and other Italian specialties. One of these is Fettuccine Alfredo — a dish made with homemade pasta, Parmesan, and Romano. While Rosebud’s Fettuccine Alfredo has received limited reviews from diners, most have been positive. One Tripadvisor reviewer
Says that the restaurant’s Alfredo sauce “is to die for,” adding, “This was by far the best Alfredo sauce I have ever had in my mouth. I don’t know how they do it, but it is heaven in food form.” On a less positive note, one diner calls the dish tasteless on Restaurant Guru, saying,
“We each tasted our food and got to go boxes and brought it home to doctor it up.” Founded in 1988 by Phil Romano, who was inspired by his grandmother’s Italian dishes, Romano’s Macaroni Grill boasts over 30 locations across the U.S. The restaurant serves a Fettuccine Alfredo made with butter, cream, and Parmesan,
And diners can add chicken and shrimp at an additional cost. You can also create your own pasta dish with Alfredo sauce, your choice of pasta, and other add-ons like Italian sausage, prosciutto, mushrooms, and roasted peppers. Romano’s fettuccine Alfredo has received a
Mixed response from diners. One enthusiastic patron sings the dish’s praises on Yelp, saying, “The fettuccine Alfredo here has always been one of my favorite restaurant Alfredos as it never disappoints! It’s got the right amount of creaminess and an amazing flavor that leaves an incredible after-taste that’ll leave you wanting more!”
However, not everybody agrees. One Tripadvisor reviewer states: “The Fettuccine Alfredo was plain and boring, pasta was warm but tasteless and the sauce of a weak milky texture, a little cheese, and garnish might have helped.” Red Lobster is a global seafood empire. Founded in 1968 in Florida, the chain has grown over
The years to encompass about 700 locations worldwide, with over 650 of those restaurants in the U.S. One of the reasons Red Lobster has done so well is its innovative menu offerings. Served with linguini instead of fettuccine, the chain’s Shrimp
Linguini Alfredo offers a modern twist on an old favorite. The menu item also comes in two other versions — one with spicy Cajun chicken and the other with sweet crabmeat. Red Lobster’s Shrimp Linguini Alfredo has garnered praise from most diners, particularly for its tasty Alfredo sauce. One reviewer posted on Facebook,
“This is the best Alfredo I have ever had! I’ve tried the Alfredo in just about every restaurant in central NY, including all the Italian restaurants, and Red Lobster’s beats them all. The shrimp is an extra bonus!” Perhaps the only complaint about the menu item is that the shrimp in
The dish are rather small. One diner says on Yelp: “The shrimp are those tiny shrimp you put in a salad, which I’d never seen in an entree before, but at least you get like 60 of them.” Another customer agrees that the shrimp in the dish were tiny, however,
They also note that they were well-cooked and covered in a super-rich sauce. “There’s an entire factory dedicated to cheesecake?” “It’s as amazing as it sounds.” According to Vox, The Cheesecake Factory serves 200,000 fettuccine Alfredos per month, making it the chain’s most popular dish. The item has earned rave reviews from most customers,
With many patrons complimenting the pasta’s flavor and its generous portions. One reviewer says on Tripadvisor that the dish was so large they couldn’t finish it, adding, “The pasta sauce was creamy and delicious and the chicken was moist and flavorsome.”
While some other satisfied patrons describe the dish as no less than perfect and delicious, it may not be ideal for those who don’t enjoy rich pasta sauces. Alice Levitt, who reviewed the item for Insider, says that the addition of cream to the sauce
Overshadows the Parmesan. She also noted that the pasta in her order was overcooked. With only around a dozen locations, Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza is a regional chain that operates in the Florida area. Despite its name, the Italian restaurant offers much more than pizza,
With a wide selection of pasta, salads, soups, and other traditional Italian dishes. One of these is the Fettuccine Alfredo, made with a homemade Alfredo sauce and optional chicken or shrimp at an additional charge. Another similar option is the Chicken Carbonara, which comes with Alfredo sauce and chicken as well as bacon and peas.
Although Piesanos’ Fettuccine Alfredo hasn’t received a lot of online reviews, the majority of them are favorable. One diner recommends the dish on DoorDash, saying, “The Alfredo sauce was so creamy! Not one complaint.” Another customer also gives the sauce the thumbs up, calling it creamy and garlicky. Additionally, several other diners
Describe the chain’s Fettuccine Alfredo as delicious and being made with love. Buca di Beppo’s portions are seriously large! Made for sharing, the restaurant’s generous servings create a dining experience that’s perfect for groups and families, and the fettuccine Alfredo is no exception. The dish comes in a standard size,
As well as larger portions for three to five diners. Alfredo sauce is also a popular feature in other Buca di Beppo offerings, including Cheese Manicotti. The chain’s Fettuccine Alfredo has garnered mostly positive feedback from those who have tried it. One happy reviewer says on Tripadvisor,
“The Alfredo sauce was the best ever. I could tell it was freshly made.” Another customer on DoorDash echoes this sentiment, saying, “[The] Alfredo is so creamy and homemade! It does not taste like a canned sauce at all!!!!” Not everybody thought it was perfect, however. One Yelp reviewer wrote,
“The fettuccine Alfredo was really good. But a little on the dry side. So I had to order extra Alfredo sauce.” Maggiano’s Little Italy serves a fettuccine Alfredo that uses asiago cheese instead of parmesan. While both cheeses are similar in taste, asiago is sweeter and less sharp than
Parmesan. Unlike many other restaurants that serve fettuccine Alfredo without additions, Maggiano’s classic version includes herb-roasted chicken. Interestingly, the chain’s Chicken and Spinach Manicotti and Four-Cheese Ravioli come with an Alfredo sauce that contains Parmesan cheese. The chain’s fettuccine Alfredo has been well-received by many diners. One reviewer on Facebook says,
“I’m SUPER picky about any fettuccine Alfredo that I eat and Maggianos KNOWS how to make it, perfectly, every single time.” Other diners agree, saying that the pasta is filling and seriously tasty. On a slightly negative note, a customer on Yelp mentioned that their Alfredo sauce was runny,
Though they still expressed their love for the dish and rated it a nine out of 10.

Traditional Alfredo has no cream, spiciness or protein. Just butter, Parmesan and fettuccine noodles, but we do like to have a side vinaigrette seafood salad of parsley, garlic, sweet onions, microgreens, sliced Argentinian shrimp, octopus and squid. 😋
I've never ordered Alfredo at Bertucci's, but really…I've never been disappointed with anything I've had there. On the other hand, Cheesecake Factory is almost always a big disappointment for me. OK….YMMV.
Oh….and no report on Carabba's?
Trip Advisor reviewer commenting on Bertucci's….."a cup of cilantro". Well, the photo doesn't show anywhere near that amount, indicating the reviewer is exaggerating for effect. This is why I NEVER trust most Reddit and TripAdvisor reviewers. First off….they don't really know what they're talking about….they aren't food experts or chefs. Second, they see themselves as Internet Warriors, out to try and be relevant…when they really aren't.
The Red Lobster slaps. Chili's cajun Alfredo also slaps.
Who do you think makes the best fettuccine Alfredo?
no buenisimos los spaguettis
mmmmmmm
American version of Fettucine Alfredo has nothing to do with Italian food.
"Fettuccine Alfredo is macaroni and cheese for adults." – Mitch Hedberg. 😋❤️🧀🍝🧈🥛
Coming from South Philly, I'm disappointed that most of these chain restaurants are unknown to me.
