Brief clip of the penthouse apartment we rented near St. Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. The hallway, living/dining, kitchen, and bathroom floors were marble, with two bedrooms wooden. All the rooms had chandeliers, an exception being the kitchen (which had modern lighting). Every window (there were many throughout) had a view of the residential area surrounding the Teatro La Fenice, including the narrow canals. We woke to the sounds of gondoliers, church bells, and the voices of Italian women. Shopping and restaurants were steps away. It was nice not staying in a hotel. The building has a private courtyard behind large wooden gate, leading to an entrance, but one must climb stairs (challenging if you have large luggage or mobility issues) as there is no elevator.
