Holy shit, DO NOT use cottage cheese. As an Italian, we would never use cottage cheese.
Garlic goes in the sauce not the meat.
Proper ricotta mixture is ricotta,egg, romano or parmesan and parsley(that's it)
Keep that cottage cheese in the fridge
