Sometimes moms get bored. During times like these I like to keep myself entertained by making funny cooking videos. Hope you guys enjoy this one!
Italian Sausage Soup
1lb mild Italian sausage (ground)
1 bag chopped kale
2 tbs butter
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 32oz containers of chicken broth
64 oz hot water
4 russet or red potatoes sliced
seasoning (chicken bouillon, salt, pepper, minced garlic, red pepper) =to taste
1 whole onion (not sweet) (finely chopped)
3 strips of bacon (finely chopped)
I start by sautéing the sausage, onion, and bacon till browned.
Once cooked add in your broth and water bring to boil.
Once boiling add in your kale (you want the kale to boil on high for about 45 min to soften before adding the potatoes).
Once your kale is softened and the stems are also soft, then you can slice the potatoes and add into soup with your seasonings, butter, and heavy cream.
Remember the potatoes are the last thing you will add in. If you over cook them, they will dissolve and create a starchy mess.
Add potatoes and heavy cream all at once turning your heavy to a low boil for about 20 min or until you can put a spatula to you potato and it easily brakes apart.
This recipe will not taste correctly until the very end. Adding the flavors from the heavy cream and the potatoes brings out the full force of flavors.
