Today, we are flying back to Italy where my sister will show you how to make an easy version of a very traditional Italian dish: la pizza di formaggio. This dish is particularly popular during the Easter period.
INGREDIENTS
4 eggs
300gr of flour
200gr of grated cheese (parmesan, pecorino, cheddar or mix)
200gr of cheese cut into cubes
1 and 1/2 glasses of milk
1/2 glass of corn or sunflower oil
2 envelopes of instant yeast or baking powder
Salt
Pepper
PREPARATION
Separate the egg whites from the yolk – be careful not to contaminate the egg whites with the yolks.
Whisk the egg whites until they are firm.
In a bowl, beat the egg yolks with the grated cheese. Add the milk and the oil and keep mixing.
Add salt and pepper and then the flour. Add the instant yeast.
At this point, fold in the previously whisked egg whites.
Prepare the baking tray by placing a sheet of parchment paper at the bottom and brushing the brim with a bit of oil.
Preheat the oven at 190C (375F). Cook the pizza for approximately 45 minutes.
It can be served warm or cold, accompanied by cold cuts, olives and/or cheese.
