1. Preheat oven according to pizza dough packaging (or recipe if using homemade dough). – Mine called for 425°F.
2. Prepare baking sheet by greasing or using non-stick mat/paper.
3. Roll dough out in a rectangle on baking sheet.
4. Cut 8 strips along both long-sides of dough rectangle. Strips should be about 2″ long – careful not to cut too far in or you won’t have much room to add filling.
5. Spread sauce of choice in the center of the dough.
6. Add cheese and desired add-ins.
7. Top add-ins with more cheese. When melted, the cheese on top will act as glue and help hold your braid together.
8. Pull the top and bottom of the dough down to make an end to your braid, and fold the outermost strips down along the bases of the other strips.
9. Starting at one end, cross a strip across your pizza and gently press it into the dough near a strips base. Next, take a free strip opposite and cross it to the other side. Repeat this step until you have only 1 strip left.
10. Take the lasy strip and cross it over to the oppoaite side as previous done, but tuck the end of this strip underneath your pizza braid. This will help keep your braid from pulling apart whole baking.
11. Add any desired outer toppings. – I added a small amount of shredded cheese and Everything But The Bagel seasoning.
12. Cook according to pizza dough packaging (or recipe if using homemade dough), or until golden brown. – Mine cooked for about 15-17 minutes.
