This recipe faithfully follows WHO guide to make a homemade hand sanitizer to be used when it is not possible to wash hands with water and soap.
The advantage of alcohol based solutions is their effectiveness against germs within few seconds. Other types of disinfectants require long reaction time and might be harmful to the skin.

Ethyl alcohol 96% _________ 833 mL (28.17 fl oz)
Hydrogen peroxide 3% ____ 42 mL (1.42 fl oz)
Glycerol 98% ____________ 15 mL (0.51 fl oz)
Sterile distilled or boiled cold water enough to top up to 1L total solution (33.8 fl oz)
Colorant _______________ a few drops
