Send this to your boyfriend before he plans Italy ๐ค
Our last day in Florence was supposed to be perfect. Six plans. Three fell apart. And somehow it was still the best day of the trip.
Hereโs what actually happened on Day 3 in Florence:
We skipped the Leaning Tower of Pisa for a Chianti wine tour (zero regrets). Got rejected at one of Florenceโs most iconic restaurants because we didnโt book ahead. Ordered a cappuccino after 11 AM and the locals made sure we knew about it. Hunted for Florenceโs 150 wine windows on a Sunday when most were closed. Tried to see Michelangeloโs David at Galleria dellโAccademia โ sold out a month in advance. Boboli Gardens โ same story. And then Florence decided to paint the sky over the Duomo on our last evening like a farewell gift we didnโt deserve.
Lesson learned โ some of the best travel days are the ones that donโt go to plan.
If youโre planning a Florence trip, hereโs what we wish someone told us:
โ Book restaurants at least a day in advance
โ Galleria dellโAccademia tickets sell out weeks ahead โ donโt wait
โ Donโt order cappuccino after 11 AM unless you enjoy death stares
โ Wine windows exist and you need to find one
โ Always leave room for no plans at all
Oh and public transport went on strike the next morning. Our train day. Follow to see how that went because it was a disaster movie in real time.
Save this for your Italy trip planning. Share it with whoever is โhandling the bookingsโ โ they need this more than you do.
