These potato meatballs are one of those traditional Italian recipes that carry more memories than ingredients.
In the past, in Italian cucina povera, nothing was ever wasted. After making broth, the boiled meat — il lesso — was set aside, cooled down, and mixed with potatoes, eggs, Parmigiano Reggiano, and simple ingredients to create these soft, comforting meatballs.
That’s how Italian home cooking was built.Leftovers turned into something even better.
Today, my nonna makes them with ground meat, but the soul of the recipe is the same. Simple, nourishing, deeply connected to Italian tradition and family recipes passed down through generations.
These are classic Italian comfort food.Crispy outside, soft inside, rich in flavor, and perfect for a cozy dinner, a quick meal, or even meal prep for the week.
Potatoes, eggs, cheese, meat..humble ingredients that come together into something incredibly satisfying. This is the kind of Mediterranean diet cooking that focuses on real food, balanced meals, and zero waste.
If you’re looking for Italian recipes, easy dinner ideas, comfort food recipes, homemade meatballs, potato recipes, family style cooking, traditional Italian food, rustic Italian meals, or authentic Mediterranean dishes, this is one of those recipes that truly represents Italian culture.
This isn’t just food. It’s memory. It’s childhood. It’s my nonna in the kitchen.

  2. My Nona had to give up the kitchen a few years ago for her own safety and finding happiness for her has been hard since

  3. I wish this easy access to film had been around before my grandma passed. She was awesome. Glad you have these videos!

  4. Ohhh Nonna❤
I miss my gramma so much
    her eyes smiled like that.
I told her once "your wrinkles make you more beautiful", and to me they did. I cherish everything she showed me. I would've done anything for her

Even if i took the beaters out the batter and splashed the kitchen as a kid. Lol

  5. I wanted to comment about the food, but that wouldn’t be an authentic reaction. My authentic reaction is that you are breathtakingly bellissimo and your nonna is so sweet and happy! When you smile, you smile with your eyes too which I love. I have the video paused right now where the onscreen text says “me and my little twig..” and I’ve never seen a more natural, genuine, beautiful smile. You are an angel!!!
