I absolutely LOVE Italian food, and it aint no secret either. And one of the things I love is Italian meatballs called Polpette. They are juicy, tender, bags of flavour and they are a lot smaller than a lot of meatball recipes so not only do the stretch further, they incorporate better into the sauce. So that is what I’m going to show you how to make, albeit my own perhaps non traditional version!

To make my Italian meatballs you will need:
Feeds 4 with pasta
For the meatballs:
►250g of minced beef
►250g of minced pork
►2-3 garlic cloves
►About 1tbsp of fresh or dried oregano
►A small handful of fresh parsley
►1/4 tsp of nutmeg
►5 tbsp of fresh or dried breadcrumbs
►40g of Italian cheese such as parmesan, pecorino or grana padano
►Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce:
►2 small sticks of celery
►1 small onion
►1 medium carrot
►2 x 400g cans of whole tomatoes
Toss through cooked spaghetti, linguine or bucatini and finish with extra cheese grated on top when served.

Adam!
That looked banging Adam?
Looks great! When you were blending the bread crumbs your hand looked like you might need some attention!
It is always good to have another meatball recipe. 😊 Grinding up the vegetables is a great idea….it’s win win! You get your vegetables in, without bitty pieces. I dislike my spaghetti sauce having obvious pieces of anything floating in it, except maybe cheese or remnants of tiny onion pieces. Well Done
Damn, now I can't wait to make these meatballs.
Off to Lidl tomorrow 🙂
Adam, would this work with turkey mince? Thanks.
@6:30 You’re always gonna get those morons who harp on about cross contamination or using gloves etc. etc.
Those people need to give their heads a shake and eff off! lol.
Adam this is amazing, I will make this the upcoming weekend!
The ALDI cherry tomatoes at 75p are very good I’m now cooking meat balls in the air fryer
Wish you would show a bit more of finished dish maybe while to try it ? From what i could see it looked amazing as always.
Thank you for the video and recipe, Mr. Adam! Everything looks amazing and I love the add-in of minced vegetables. Aldi's here in the US has some great store brands so I'll definitely be using their plum tomatoes, but you are right Mutti is probably the best as is Cento. Alas, we must do what our pocket books allow us and still be able to eat good food. I've watched a couple of Italian-American cooks' and chefs' videos on how they make their meatballs a few days before watching this one, and their meatball sizes are huge with similar ingredients, minus nutmeg and added LOTS of garlic. I think yours will be faster cooking though. No worries about using the same bowl, the tomatoes are going to be cooked for 25 minutes anyway. And the meatballs were par-cooked as well then added back to the sauce to continue cooking. Pay the complainers no mind. Thank you again! You're the BEST!! Big hugs and best wishes from sunny Florida! See you in the next video! 🥰💖🙏🏼🌹🍝
Looks like a delicious quick meal will make it.
I must remember not to watch these 9 o’clock at night when I’m on a FKG diet that ain’t working 😂 They look fantastic and that generic Italian cheese is absolutely fine especially if you use way more than called for. 👍
Adore meatballs. Well nice ones just like yours look!😋❤
Soon enough we'll all be making our recipes with the cheapest of cost of living ingredients. Nice meatball and sauce recipe. With a litre or two of stock you'd also have a lovely meatball soup, just add some elbow pasta.
Thanks again and Cheers Adam 👍😀🤤
I love meatballs – I must try your recipe as I usually end up buying them when they are reduced close to their date.
I freeze mine and add them to the sauce still frozen. It takes a little longer to cook them through, but what tomato sauce doesn't benefit from a little longer gentle cooking!
I tried adding a star anise to my tomato sauce and was rather impressed.
Adam is quite correct, the Mutti brand tinned tomatoes are fantastic, the boy knows his stuff !!!!!!
Looks banging mate
