I grew up in the Detroit area and there was no such thing as "Detroit Pizza" … (they must be new) … BUDDY'S PIZZA looks just like what you see here … and they were the BEST pizza in the Detroit area! (p.s. i've lived in los angeles the last 50 years and NOBODY comes close to … Buddy's Pizza … Google them!

Lifelong New Yorker but even I can't resist the crispy edges of a Detroit style pizza
The original was Cloverleaf on Gratiot.
It's square, looks like toppings come to crispy edges, but that still doesn't look like Detroit pizza served at Buddys, Jets, Nikis, Green Lantern, or basically any place else around Detroit.
