Did you know that Timothée Chalamet learned two languages for this role? 🎹🇮🇹
We are at number 90 in our Top 100 countdown: Call Me by Your Name (2017). This film is famous for its raw emotion, but the dedication of the actors behind the scenes is what made it a masterpiece. Here are the most interesting facts about Elio and Oliver’s summer.
🤯 6 SHOCKING CALL ME BY YOUR NAME FACTS: 1. Musical Prodigy: Timothée Chalamet didn’t pretend to play the piano or guitar. He actually spent years playing piano and spent weeks in Italy learning to play the guitar specifically for this movie! 🎹🎸 2. Language Skills: To play Elio authentically, Timothée also had to learn how to speak Italian and improve his French before filming started. 🇮🇹🇫🇷 3. Only One Rehearsal: The director didn’t want the actors to over-rehearse. The famous scene where they talk around the monument was done with almost no practice to keep it natural. 🏛️ 4. The Famous Peach: The crew actually tested if the “peach scene” was physically possible. They found out it was, so they kept it in the movie! 🍑 5. Family Vibes: To build chemistry, the actors lived in the same town in Italy for weeks before shooting, riding bikes and eating together every day just like in the film. 🚲🍝 6. The Ending: That final 4-minute shot of Elio by the fireplace was filmed in one single take. Timothée had an earpiece playing the song “Visions of Gideon” to help him stay in that emotional moment. 😭🔥
