  1. Enjoy a side of Roman history with your meal.

    As a note:

Visitors don’t have to enter the restaurant to see the road and the skeletons (the originals were removed and replaced with replicas), as there is a separate, free entrance behind the restaurant, where there is a glass-enclosed museum gallery in the basement, where visitors can walk along the ancient cobblestones.

  2. welcome to capitalism, dear Roman. we're gonna use your bones as restaurant decoration, hope you don't mind.

  3. Yes, here in Italy if we want to dig deeper than one meter for some construction work we have to call an archeologist because…well, this happens often for obvious reasons

  4. This reminds me of the one strip of land in Tonala, Mexico where theres a reconstruction of a native burial with a glass panel between 2 roads near the outdoor market

  5. Willing to bet they were either slaves or failed bandits who got killed and buried on the side of the road

  6. "instead of removing…" As if they could!!, this is not the US, if ruins are discovered you need to either cover back again or protect and display like in the video.

  7. I betcha 2000 years ago, those people were probably saying, "I really hope that one day they'll display my remains in a permanent open-air display at a McDonalds." I betcha!

  8. Thank god you confirmed the skeletons are replicas. I mean, I'm not even going to pretend my pessimistic concern is out of nowhere….so I'm just glad to know that in this case, it was wrong.

  9. Near Naples there's a military base for families of Americans stationed there, and in the supermarket there thry have some glass floors in the aisles showing Roman reminans, I'd assume they also found them during construction

  10. Shoulda made the building look old and Romanerrrr (LIKE MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE FLOOR)
