How to make Simple Italian Tomato Sauce—One pot, olive oil, garlic, onion, tomato puree, tomato paste, parsley and basil is all it takes!
Add salt to tomato sauce when cooking onions at beginning and also after adding tomato puree. To make pasta: Boil lots of water in a large pot, add 1/4 cup of salt and boil again, add pasta and cover to bring to boil again; uncover and cook pasta until “al dente” or “slightly firm to the tooth” when you bite into it.
