We deviated from our regular mushroom-pepperoni to try the NYT creamed kale pizza recipe. It's basically a white pizza with dough – then cheese – then kale – then cream sauce – then shallots.
Overall, it was very good (despite the unappetizing name!). The flavors and textures came together well; despite the cream sauce being on top, it wasn't runny at all. The kale was fully cooked and tasted nice. Following some recommendations in the comments section, we also added in some plant-based sausage for pops of flavor & texture and I'm glad we did – it would have been a little monotonous otherwise – I'd actually put in quite a bit more next time. What we missed was the bright acidity of a marinara, and when I make this again I'll put a layer of red sauce between the dough and cheese. We do still prefer our regular – but this would be a nice, kinda fancy pizza to do up for a party alongside other flavors.

I had this on my list because I love a white pizza and I love kale. Thanks for the review!
