I’ve been making pizzas in my own home oven (250C max) and baking steel. It makes fairly

decent pizzas but I cant help but imagine how much better it’d be with a proper pizza oven like the effeuno.

However I also understand a good spiral mixer is important. But my budget only allows for either oven or mixer 🤣

Need some thoughts here, which should i get first for a neapolitan style? Can i get away with just hand kneading? it’ll just be for making pizzas indoor for my family.

Attached are some of pizzas i’ve made. Still a noob.

    I would say, if you already have a good steel, get a quality mixer.

    When I got my sunmix 10kg mixer, it has been an absolute game changer to the texture of the dough and gluten structure.

  2. Oven, you can make dough by hand with a bowl, spoon, dutch wisk, couple scrapers and a scale.

    Mixers also are note super necessary for pizza imo. I just use the stretch and fold method.

    If you want a true Neopolitan style you need the heat and I guarantee you that came before spiral mixers. It all comes together when you cook at 750F +.

    Get the oven first. I went from a steel in my home oven to a Gozney Dome a few years ago and the results were incredible. I’ve recently gotten a spiral mixer and, while the dough is noticeably better than it had been, it didn’t increase the quality as much as it did going from my home oven to the Gozney.

    Those pies look really nicely baked for a home oven. But if your goal is neapolitan, new oven is an easy choice.

    The oven, but that depends on your climate and outdoor set up. Another option is a second steel on top. Or a larger/thicker steel as steel number two.

    I would think you can get a good deal on both used. Both are new impulse buys. Then turn into dust collects and one of the spouses says get rid of it. So keep an eye out on used deals.

    Oven. Some of my best doughs have been an $8 dough whisk and my hands. My neo recipe I use especially is by hand

    I use a KitchenAid the rest of the time.

    If a spiral means you can’t get a pizza oven, absolutely get the oven
