My Grandparents came from the same province as Nonna….
The city of Campobasso can be seen from their hilltop town of Monacilioni .
They settled in the U.S. , just across the border from Vancouver BC.
My mom's friend made these but they had rum in them and she called them rum balls or Russian tea cakes
Yes!!!!! In Hispanic culture they're called biscochos or wedding cookies. But yes they are amazi!!!!!! I love how diffrent cultures have such similar foods, diffrent names but still somthin that unites us!!! If only the diffrent countries in strife rite now could have a gathering of people with a huge table of they're foods!!!!! SHARE, COMPARE, AND FIND THE SIMILARITIES TO PUT THE UGLINESS TO REST FOR GOOD❤❤❤❤❤
Can Nonna make pizzeles next. 😊
Baking with family is always fun! I made these cookies with my daughters and they ARE delicious! Another amazing video, I just enjoy watching this family…Nonna is the best, kind heart and wise advice! 🥰🥰🥰
Love these cookies! I put very small piece of Italian candied cherries in the middle. Also if you press the dough into a rectangle shape first, score it…every cookie is approx the same size. What a pretty house you have.🎄
I love these and make them every Christmas. They are my favorite.
Is the oven supposed to be 375° or 385° because your mom’s oven says 385° in the video?
These are one of my favorite cookies. Thank you for sharing. Happy Holidays
Buon Natale!
I make these every year. My great grandmothers recipe.
Actually here I'm México they have different names like: terrones de nuez (which translates like almond rocks), besos de nuez (which translates to almond kisses) and other names that I cannot remember right now.
😊
My mom too
Do you mean anisette cookies?
Love to see you bake amaretti cookies, biscotti and my favorite, panettone. ❤
Perfect recipe just in time for Christmas!
Gee, Julian, I thought your Mom was you Sister. ❤
Yes! This is what my mama used to make. They are so good.
We call them butterballs or snowballs, my favorite too! My paternal grandfather was from Campobasso (Campo diPietro). ❤️ He settled in Cleveland, Ohio! Praise Jesus, God bless all!
Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤🙏✨✨✨!!!
My favorite cookies!❤
Icing sugar is also called powdered sugar …
Pls. everyone,,,, just so you know, be careful when you surprise older people,,, this one is fine,,, (can be emotional for them)
❤🧡💛💚💙💓💓 Nonno your hilarious. You said your town in Italy so Fast no one will ever know 🥰🥰 But it is the region i thought,,, between Naples and Rome,,, prob closer to Naples. (where my people are from) what was it like to grow up there?? was your village 100 people,, 200,, 1,000??? It must have been rural,,, maybe a few shops, a open market and buying meat eggs and milk from local people?? (i still buy local even though there are more stores now in my corner of NH),,,,,my people are from Naples area. we grew up in Boston, but now no more cities for us. Ciao'
Mexican weddings cookies lol
Suggestion: Please consider stopping the little interviews. They break up the cozy flow of experiencing your family and cheapen the videos to a sitcom level. Your family is wonderful and should be experienced with as little edited as possible.
This is my opinion, but I really hope you take it into considering! Love❤
These are one of my very favorite cookies! For my Christmas baking, I make these shown, pizzelle, biscotti, spritz cookies and small loaves of banana bread. These all are wrapped and given as an assortment as gifts to family and friends.
I am a fan of your family. And I’ve asked many times. Where is your father. If he is shy to be on camera I get it. But is that why he is not on this show can you reply ?
“Italian Snowball”. 😂😂😂😂😂 they are actually Russian tea cakes or Mexican wedding cookies. You people want to take credit for everything. 😂
We’ve always called Snowball Cookies Wedding Cookies. One of our recipes calls them Sandies. Whatever you call them, they’re delicious!
Hey there Julian & Nona. Buena Natal from Nova Scotia. I love watching you guys, so much of your content reminds me of my childhood. My wonderful sister who was 16 years older than me married an Italian immigrant and they lived in an apartment in my parent’s house. So while I have zero Italian DNA, I grew up Italian. My sister passed away in 2010 & the family fell apart, so I don’t have contact with my Italian brother in law any longer. I sorely miss Christmas Eve & feasting on seafood & so many other Italian traditions I grew up with. Enjoy your family and hold them tight while you have them.
Yum! Mom always made them at Christmas. She called the Russian tea cakes. 🥰 I’m not a baker either. Yet my daughters are.
I love your family
One of my favorite, Christmas cookies!
Julian, please please give a big warm HUG to your beautiful nonna! And say to her that I understand that she misses Italia! My grandmother was also from Italy and I have been several times to that wonderful country! Thank you for sharing. Your grandparents warm my heart and soul. Thank you for that and bless you all. Buon Natale ❤️
