Zuppa Toscana

ingredients:
1 lb italian sausage fully cooked- I like hot
4 cups diced russet potatoes
1 white onion diced
1-2 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp italian seasoning
1 tsp each salt and pepper
6 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
4 cups chopped kale

start by fully cooking the italian
sausage in a pan, drain excess grease
to a crockpot add the cooked italian
sausage, potatoes, onion, garlic, italian
seasoning, salt and pepper
top with chicken broth (add water if
needed to fully cover the potatoes)
.stir to combine, cover and cook on
high 4 hours
once done cooking add parmesan
cheese, heavy cream, kale and continue
cooking 30 minutes

  2. Love the recipe. But curious as to why the crockpot. You said browned sausage. You already used a different pan or pot but breakout the crockpot to finish the last 20 mins? I honestly don't get it. Just use the one stove top pot.

  3. Not a fan of Kale and as such it needs much longer cooking. I’d be more inclined to use spinach.
