The ink had merely dried on the ruin’s sales contract when we went off treasure hunting in antique markets and salvage yards for antique building materials in Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. The road trips took us to the famous monthly antique fair in Arezzo, but also to a more modest village flea market, plus to shops for both antique furniture and old tiles, gates, doors, fireplaces – you name it. It would be early to start buying materials as the building applications wasn’t even presented yet, but the timing was perfect for collecting prices and ideas.

Can’t wait for upcoming video
Molim vas gde se ovo nalazi. U kom gradu.
You found treasure with the last seller!
Oh, I am definitely coming along for this ride!!!!
How exciting to have such wonderful places to go to look for treasures for your home! I love anything antique and old world looking. So much history and if the pieces could only talk and share their stories! Your channel is brilliant. I could listen to you speak for hours and your husband does a fantastic job filming.
I am So Very glad that you included this video in with your on-going story. I LOVED seeing all the markets – and it was even More interesting because you included all the shots of the countryside with all the different vistas from other locations. Thank You! By the way – although you don’t need the advice of all your subscribers (like me ) – just wanted to say that it is more interesting to watch your process when you are doing it in exactly the right way. Who needs brand new items to enhance the atmosphere of your beautiful ruins when instead you can amplify the satisfying look and feel of the flavor and richness of materials and furniture- etc – that have more of that time worn patina which fits in so much better? But – even Better you are taking the time and efforts to look around and see what is out there that just Fits in every way including being financially smarter. Being able to virtually look around in the markets is such pleasure, but my FAVorite is the place out in the field with so many “Finds” and with most of them at a much more palatable price too! When he opened up that storage container surrounded by Doors and such – it looked fascinating- but all we got of That was a peek. What a tease! lol. Please continue to share more – including the best “finds” in both building materials that fit perfectly – as well as special pieces you discover in your outings.
I am completely thrilled to be apart of your journey. You are a fabulous storyteller and I patiently wait for the next episode. This will be a spectacular project.
if it's part 800yrs old why not look into listing it, and get restoration advice and possibly grants. where i live in the US this is what i've found
I'm afraid you are going to over do it. Why not talk to historical societies and government preservation authorities 🙏
Helt fantastisk video. Takk for turen. Skal til Syd Frankrike til sommeren, og besøke mange antikvitetsforretninger, det blir noen dagsturer over grensa til Italia også tenker jeg. De rutete flisene ute på jordet var helt lekre. 🤩
weird that old materials would be more expensive than new…..I get it there's a bit of authenticity whihc people pay a premium for…otoh the materials are often worn out though ….imo re-using old materials should be encouraged and discounted…esp in this era of sustainability and environmentalism
this process is very interesting to see, thanks! however, it makes my head spin! I would do the grpahic design first…..then use that when shopping…..so I have a visual representation to work from…..otherwise, the sheer number of options is mind boggling
do you have a picture in your mind you are going from? or more still just feling things out?
Enhorabuena por su canal. Su “ruina” espléndida , su forma de narrar magnífica e hipnótica y todo lo que dice maravilloso. Un placer seguirle.
Wow, youtube randomly put your first video in my feed today and I watched them all immediately. I'm hooked! This is such an awesome project and I can't wait to see more! Do you plan on building a road to the house, or are you keeping it a walking trail / stairs?
Delightful!
Just come back from the Amalfi coast, what a beautiful place to live, looking forward to the next episode ♥
"Hey! 😊 If you're on the hunt for antique furniture, in Torre del Greco there are a couple of cool spots worth checking out."
You sound / narrate like a character from a cary grant movie, it's delicious 😊 plus the music, filming is all very charismatic, looking forward very much to what's to come, hopefully longer ones ( cheeky I know)
Please slow down when you speak in your videos, i had to stop the video many times and rewind to understand the audio clearly. Please speak clearly. I love your videos and please don’t take my comment negatively. I am very experienced in renovating and projects like yours. ❤
Petter and Margrethe, you may miss this but I came back just to check on the channel's subs and lo and behold, I missed the 100k mark. Congratulations on your 101K subs in record time! BRAVO!
This was such a wonderful post to randomly appear on my youtube feed! I love everything about this content and video and I'm now fan. Thank you!
I love your project and videos and from what I've gathered from the few soundbites in this video your Italian is very good! I will follow your beautiful dream and I'm cheering for you!

The guy in the field selling tiles! Amazing!!!
103K subs, Congrats, well deserved.
I admire your work and courage. I'm already looking forward to your next videos—maybe even some with a more technical focus. Best regards, a designer from the Czech Republic.
By far the most idyllic renovation channel.
Cheers to you. 🥂.
