We got here on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. Reservations need to be booked at least one day ahead of the opentable website.

I love Mission Viejo city, although it is far away from my house, but I can indulge in what I consider THE BEST Italian restaurant in Southern California. Certainly far better than anything I have ever had in Los Angeles.

I have gone to Piccolino to share tastes of my respective dishes. Piccolino has an extensive menu to choose from. Each dish, every time, is absolutely excellent. Freshly made pastas cooked perfectly, well-balanced sauces.

The owners take pride in their food and excellent service, and it shows. Piccolino’s high reviews are well deserved.

I just wish they were closer; I’d eat there weekly; is is so good!

Fettuccine Piccolino $36 – Mexican shrimp, sea scallop, garlic, spinach, creamy saffron
Bistecca alla Chianina $44 – Thick sliced 12 oz. grilled Rib-Eye over arugula, tomato, balsamic glaze, shaved parmesan
