Ingredients for making easy and healthy hot chocolate milk:
1 cup milk
1tbsp honey
1tbsp cocoa powder
2 tsps hot water

Ingredients for making Italian hot chocolate:
1/2 tsp cornstarch
1 1/2cup milk
1-2 tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
1+1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
4 oz dark chocolate(optional)
cocoa powder/chocolate shavings for serving

Instructions for making homemade Italian hot chocolate:
– Start by making a slurry of corn starch and milk which we’re going to use to thicken the hot chocolate later
– Once the mixture is completely smooth set it aside and place a saucepan on your stove over medium low heat
– Add 1 cup of milk, a little granulated sugar, a pinch of salt and some good quality cocoa powder to your pot and whisk until it’s combined and lightly simmering
– At this point you can add some good quality dark chocolate then turn the heat off and pour in the cornstarch slurry
– Whisk until the chocolate has fully melted and it has thickened quite a bit (if you are adding dark chocolate)
– It’s going to be much thicker than your average hot chocolate and the colour should be a rich dark brown
– Serve immediately with whipped cream and chocolate shavings/ cocoa powder then prepare to go into a blissful chocolate induced coma!
