  1. This video is very informative. It seems to make 2 servings, I am the only one who would drink it so how would you store the second serving? Would it keep in the fridge until the next day or would you freeze and then let it thaw?

  2. Just checking all the ingredients in the yogurt you choose , that goes for anything besides fruit also remember that not all or even half of them milks made from nuts are good for or good at all ! Some ( most) are made from emoleants ( excuse most of my spelling) and or rotten nuts. Yogurts tend to have WAY to much sugar and added sugars, so watch that. Frozen fruit is about the only thing you won't have to think about.. be careful and do not buy things with flavoring or even " natural flavors" that use to make me think it was ok, cause it dmsays " natural" . Well its not. Anyways "study up."

  3. I always use a banana with my Frozen Fruit.
I find RASBERRIES make it bitter unless I use a banana. So if I don't use Banana will use bit Of maple syrup
I use soy milk and Greek yoghurt,, but everytime I make smoothie it ALMOST curdled.
    why?
I live in New Zealand, wish we had frozen peaches.
I use Kiwifruit and blueberries Or RASBERRIES or both.
    I sometimes use flavour yoghurt.
I want to buy protein powder to add to IT..
I have pineapple in My freezer with other fruit, didn't use it as didn't KNOW if pineapple can be used in smoothie

  4. I just looked at the pineapple recipe she uses more pineapple than liquid,I would use quarter cup of that.
I use handful of frozen berries and often add a banana and Greek yoghurt,2 weeks ago used raspberry yoghurt,, used chia seeds the other day.
I use soy milk, but smoothie always gets like a almost foam/froth consistency,I never follow a recipe,I been making smoothie most days for two weeks As I'm in bed since 31st May, health issues and PTSD and depression etc.
I hadn't made smoothies in 4 years until a fee weeks ago .
Advice would be appreciated and recipes And tips.

  10. I go super simple with it every time and it’s absolutely delicious:

    TIPS:
    – get a good blender, blenders are great for a variety of things, cooking soups, blending sauces, amazing smoothies and cocktails; the list is endless. My blender is actually one of my most used appliances. I have a Vitamix and it’s the best, nice full blend, it has a pulse option and I pulse everything until it’s majority blended and then I turn it up and on and just let it ride an extra minute or so. Never issues with greens not being blended or whatever she’s mentioned. That’s all poor blender issues.
    – use milk for the creamiest most delicious smoothies that are also incredibly high in protein, about a 80% ration to whatever is in your pitcher.
    – use the frozen fruit!!! Costco has the best deals on frozen fruit and it’s delicious! Massive bags at great prices. Frozen fruit is flash frozen (which locks in more nutrients than traditional freezing we could accomplish at home) it’s also frozen at peak freshness and ripeness. Frozen everything is the way to go for that cold, rich texture. I’ve tried fresh and it can’t compare.
    – add a handful of greens, I traditionally go w fresh spinach organic.
    – add flax meal or chia seeds for an added kick of fiber.
    – add sugar!!! The best type of smoothie is one you’ll love drinking every single day.
    – not all fruit will be as flavourful as others- in my experience mango and pineapple really lack flavour after being frozen, so I always either add more sugar which allows more flavour formation OR you can just add some berries to it as berries definitely have the most flavour.

My typical recipe which fills a large Starbucks tumbler or timmies tumblr I believe it’s 750mls:
    – 2 or 3 cups of fruit is absolutely amazing!! Tastes the best and gives you all your required fruit servings. Berries are your friend and pack the most flavour, literally any fruit combo will be delicious. Raspberries and black berries are the most nutrient dense. Always add a frozen banana I add an entire one everytime bc why not; more fiber and flavour!
    – add either a handful of raw greens (my go to’s are Swiss chard or spinach) you can also make a multi greens mixture via chopping up a variety of greens together and freezing them in a separate bag or you can blend them in a vitamix or similar with water and freeze the mixture into an ice cube tray; add 2-3 ice cubes if this is the method you choose!
    – add seeds I typically use 2 tablespoons or flax seed meal or 1.5 tablespoons of chia seeds; flax seed meal, chia seed meal, hemp seeds, whatever you find is good for your nutrient requirements is what you’ll choose or just mix it up! I recommend only choosing one seed mixture per smoothies as it can make the consistency too rich due to water absorption if you use multiple ie flax and chia seeds or too much chia seeds!
    – 500 ml of 2% or whole milk for the added protein and most importantly the taste.
    – 2-3 tablespoons of sugar depending on what fruit I’m using and how flavourful it is. I would use more sugar with pineapple and mango than a berry smoothie. Sugar is essential to having an amazing tasting smoothie and it’s the most cost effective. You could get fancy but I’m a simple woman and stick to what I can maintain and tastes best.

Good luck! Drinking a smoothie a day is one of the best things you can do for the body. My health has improved greatly since doing so and I always keep it super simple, always delicious, and it keeps things moving if you know what I mean lol!
