hot questions and even hotter wings and today we’re joined by Heidi Clum she’s an Emmy award-winning TV host Fashion Icon one of the most prolific magazine cover models in the history of print you can catch her hosting Germany’s Next Top model and in her long held judges seat on America’s Got Talent which returns to NBC for season 19 this may Heidi Clum welcome to the show thank you what’s your mindset like going into this are you someone who likes things a little bit spicy I don’t at all and you know having four kids they will always even if I put pepper on the food they already oh Mom that’s a little hot so I’ve been always cooking and people who have been cooking also for my family has always been super mild for the kids so I feel like this is going to be very hard for me today [Music] I like that you make them nice and nuked because I love them burnt a little bit so a lot of people told me so many different things what you shouldn’t shouldn’t do some people told me don’t ever let your lips get to it that’s a smart tip we’ll see if we can uh hold but I already I messed that one up you [Music] noce so this one is totally good and since I’m hungry should I have a little more of it sure I’ll join you yeah I mean this has the slightest little kick it’s like now my tongue in the front is going a little bit like see you were built for this just a little bit you’re going to rock this does this count that’s that’s good that is good you’re good good to go so this summer marks your 11th season as a judge on America’s Got Talent can you believe it and my favorite emotional state of yours is when you’re on the verge of a panic attack what stands out in your memory as being like the most frightened you’ve ever been during an audition when I had an apple shot literally off my head because they ask us all the time oh can you join us come on to the stage and I’m like okay because you never know what happens and the GU is all the way in the audience over there with a bow and arrow and I sit there with an apple on my head and he shoots the Apple off my head wow I got into so much trouble with my husband he was like you’re not doing that ever again like it’s fun if you participate in like some goofy thing whatever but when it’s like dangerous like that because things do go wrong right so I was that was I was super terrified with [Music] that this one here it’s called seene double good don’t touch it with the lips they told me mhm we got to hit that strategy mhm look at that do you see that Pro total Pro just has a like a lemony kind of taste to it yeah a little freshness and then a little kick on it but not bugging you too much no totally doable there we go uh-huh what’s the biggest mistake you see aspiring models make as contestants on Germany’s Next Top Model you know you once said it’s amazing to me how often people are unprepared to perform in a professional environment like they want to be a model but they’ve never walked in heels I’m like the show is on for 19 years and they stand there and they’re like oh it’s let’s say it’s a Tuesday and they’re like oh last Friday I bought myself the my first pair of heels and they walk as if they’ve never walked on heels and then you have other girls that are walking so amazingly already that I’m like how are you supposed to catch up with these other contestants it’s not possible so they’ve just not been in training you know know I feel like if you want to do this job you have to walk in heels yeah you got to walk in heels you you feeling this already no you know I’ve done this for a long time so I have familiarity with it all you know what I’m saying um but it’s always a new adventure every time are you ready to move on here to the third wing yes all right so up next fermented kimchi fermented already sounds interesting we’re supposed to eat more fermented things fermented kimchi we’re supposed to eat a lot more kimchi also do you know that sour all kind of fermented things are supposed to be very good for us okay we go eat it without touching your [Music] lips totally doable oh my God I can’t believe how good I’m doing at this I thought already I’m going to be like you should be proud of yourself yeah well let’s remember the good times you know as we work our way through make to soon shoot so your foray into music so far seems to be largely driven by you having the courage to approach artists like Tiesto or Snoop Dog and say to them I have an idea and they’re saying yes to me well who could say no to you Heidi well a lot of people and a lot of people have I always loved singing and I also love when I have a crazy idea and I get it to the finish line and it happened then again with Tiesto I said I have a an idea for a song He’s like you sing and I’m like no but he’s like oh what is your idea I said I really want to do sunglasses at night again from Cory Hart and he’s like ooh good idea let’s go and I was like really so it was like that again and again so it just happened and I was so happy in the end that I’m like I can’t even believe I pulled this off my kids too they were Uber excited about this they’re like Mom how did you pull that off I’m like I don’t know what’s happening now I can tell you my nose starts slightly right doing this yeah you have that there’s going to be a little bit of a cumulative effect as do you have that and my armpit is going a little bit on the way to your side no that’s natural you and me both okay so this one is called Los calient barboa o do cant means double as spicy don’t touch the lips mhm off the top of your head without thinking about it too much what would you say is like the most expensive outfit you’ve ever worn $ 12.5 million bra and 750,000 panty to match for VCT yes you got have matching panties for Victoria Secret yeah it was all encrusted with diamonds and rubies and whatnot I think I got in the Guinness Book of World Record s by wearing the most expensive lingerie set in the history of the world yeah all right Heidi four down we are on to the halfway point if you’re ready yeah so up next I’m sorry that I’m sniveling like that no make no apology look this one is a wet one let’s just this one is a little on the Wet Side so this one is meow’s Revenge meow’s Revenge yeah a little cat on the [Music] bottle does do a so for decades you’ve owned the Halloween season with your hyper elaborate and imaginative costumes what we’ve done is we’ve pulled some of our favorite Heidi Clum Halloween costumes from over the years we’ll pull them up on the monitors over here and what we’re looking for is the BTS you know maybe what inspired the look the challenges and pulling it all together how you remember these costumes in the rear view and we’ll start with one that I love can you pull back the curtain on this Heidi Clum attack of the Clones so you know a lot of the times I wish that I could clone myself you know with four kids TV shows all these different things designing blah blah blah I was like I would love to have a twin or you know I would love to be cloned and I was like wait a minute oh Halloween I’m going to do this for Halloween one year the hardest thing about this was to find five girls that are my height have my body that was the hardest bit the casting to get these amazing five girls who were kind enough to be me for the night and voila I think it I mean I should have not smiled probably maybe then I would have been better but I’m smiling it kind of gives it away a little bit here yeah and we came out of this box and I wrote on the outside made in Germany so I thought that that would be funny to do but that was actually very very hard to do oh yeah here we’re coming from space this is probably the most prosthetic I’ve ever had it took from 8:00 in the morning I want to say till 10 p.m. at night and I put myself in a window in Manhattan so that people could see the entire process so it’s a glass window all the artists are working on me gluing things on painting spraying whatnot and I’m just sitting there from beginning to end people could watch this because I thought if people are interested in the Artistry they can come by and watch this evolve you know throughout the day and then one more for you yeah and what I’m curious about this a certified classic the worm costume yeah how long are you able to maintain a grub form like do you do a change of clothes after you hit the red carpet are you able to squirm around a party all night like this I was so claustrophobic in this thing because you have to think I’m already hours in this thing before I even go out so my hands are like Tied by the side of me like this I’m like in there like this my face is glued on to the outside as you can see so I can’t even move my face not one bit I’m just stuck in there I said to my husband okay because I knew I wanted to do all the interviews on the floor because I thought it would be fun so I had lights put on the bottom because normally the lights always up here just for the faces and you can’t get out you can’t pee I couldn’t eat or drink anything hours before and then after a while I just couldn’t do it anymore I had to take it off but then I left my face on so I just cut it out they got me out of this and then they just removed this and then I still had this face and then I literally looked like bacon it looked like a truck thr over my face and it was just like spread bacon and I had this like buzle Dazzle like rhinestone thing underneath which I thought it was funny like a funny contrast with this warm thing onima has a different cake to it are you having another bite no you doing them finger looking good style you have them like all the way down to the ground well I’m just trying to keep does this count yeah of course I’m just trying to keep up with you you’re over here crushing it too I’m just trying to keep up Heidi I’m just trying to keep up tongue on fire for me I feel like all those uh taste buds are coming out like they all come alive you know we’re going to come alive here I feel more alive than I have yeah this entire afternoon right now right now Heidi we’re in the moment yeah I feel it from a modeling perspective what do you see as the pros and cons of no longer living in a monoculture you know there was a time where like scouring a handful of fashion magazine covers that was the Pinnacle of success but obviously things have changed quite a bit yeah it’s just a different thing is a good bed I mean everyone is always complaining about everyone on social media you know we’ve learned our craft like I hear this’s a lot also from herir and makeup and it’s true I feel it myself you know when you have someone who has just learned how to tussle your hair like this and others who’ve learned how to really blow Dred from the root and make it really bounce or you know there’s a certain kind of craft to this too that you know people learn in school and others kind of maybe have just learned it Loosey gooy along the way and also that can be very good but I hear them always complaining about it how are they getting all these jobs how are doing all these things and d and I always feel like but that’s just how it is you know they got lucky to get this so it’s like EV the world is for everyone so if they figured out the way on how to get something over you or over me and that’s just that’s just how it is so I feel like whatever whatever this is red frag so this is not the boom chalaga yet no this no that’ll be the next one okay good try to keep it off the lips I see you’re doing it [Music] too I have to tell you for days I’ve been thinking don’t get like a crack in your lip you know because sometimes you have a little thing and you want to pull it off and you’re like I’m doing hot wings nothing can be pulled off right but I love your add ude towards this whole thing you seem to be uh you know curious about the heat you keep exploring it you know I love that no because I’m wondering oh my eyelash is going to fall off you know is it like so despite your full Embrace of American culture I’m sure that there are German dishes that you miss from your childhood outside of cologne what’s a canoodle and can you talk us through how to make one canoodle yeah well there’s different kind of canoodles but I love potato canoodles so you you shred potatoes you put salt in it and then in order to get the water out the oldfashioned way they would put it in a pillow case and then they would put it in the dryer so that all the water from the potatoes are coming out and then you you can either put a little sausage in there which I would recommend as a German put a little sausage in the middle and then you put them nice together and then you put in hot boiling water amazing I love that you always wait for me why because you think that I’m not going to do it then you’re like no I’m not going to do it either no you know what I’m a I’m a host I’m a chicken wing talk show host of the highest dignity so I try W but also so that we can have it at the same time you know cuz some of these have a little bit of a delay exactly so we experience it together okay in sync [Music] I thought buttermilk would do the trick let’s see doesn’t help at all now I’m getting kind of a weightlessness feeling in my head you know I’m kind of tripping almost a little bit I’m getting hot yeah whoa whoa now I’m getting hot too Heidi wait a minute [Music] that one is the kicker yeah it’s the kicker how are you doing I’m holding on if you’re holding on but I’ll admit I’m just barely holding on you know when does it go in like 5 or 10 minutes It’ll fade completely I have to take this off we go I got to undo a button I think my mic is in my crotch is that a slide problem it’s all right we got a boom we got a boom stew best uh sound guide in the biz don’t worry we still got your sound being fashionably late overrated or underrated sorry then I’m doing this by the way don’t apologize terrible kids don’t do this kind of stuff this is terrible I should be doing this but I feel like I touched it I didn’t touch this hold on it’s terrible sorry one second sorry I’m better I think not really nobody is but we can just fly our way through it are you feeling better are you feeling better feel slightly better what did you ask me again being fashionably late is that overrated or underrated do you think everyone always is I’m never late never late did you hear that oh my God wait I have to BR one second no sorry sorry it’s the buttermilk I went to the Luminator this is almost doable again are you sure about this one yep wow amazing Heidi impressive it’s the strategy she’s off the lips no because I also don’t want to look like I’m just nibbling on this stuff I’m eating those wings guys you are you’re crushing it as a longtime devotee of The Burning Man festival how would you describe an ideal afternoon for Heidi Clum in Black Rock City yeah you need to have a lot of lights with you on your light because you out day and night because there’s all these amazing things happening so there’s art installations everywhere there’s amazing DJs everywhere that you want to see so you drive there with your bicycle all over the place you drive like 2 miles that way there’s someone playing then you drive two mes that way there’s someone playing and then you watch the sun go down and come back up again all right Heidi clom what you putting this over it whatever you’re doing I’m doing I’m doing it respect this is the good stuff that’s exactly right okay care okay that’s good that’s good that’s good that’s good that’s good yeah just old do we are Cheers Heidi what a run let me see how much you have on there okay good is it
