Just a clueless Brit attempting something new! This ended up being wolfed down by the wife and I, so keen to try this again with improvements. Just a small 7inch pie to test the waters with. Pre-rolled short crust pastry, lashings of grated mozzarella, tin of chopped tomatoes, 4 big crushed garlic cloves, healthy shakes of oregano, basil, salt n pepper (a tiny pinch of paprika, marjoram, thyme, rosemary, sage & parsley too), pepperoni layered inside and on top then topped off with grated parmigiano reggiano.
Loosely inspired by this recipe: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/how-to-make-chicago-style-deep-dish-pizza/ though next time considering making the pastry from scratch and trying bacon and/or crumbled sausage. Any criticisms or tips for next time I'm all ears – cheers!
