  1. I agree that Joe's on Carmine street was not that good. Excited to try Lombardi's. Thanks for the tips!

  2. Cool video… but I'm always bummed how street food has to be eaten on a grungy sidewalk… it's really kinda gross

  3. Great reviews…none of these places used fresh mozzarella cheese..I though that was required? Anyway,my brother ate at Lombardo's Pizza a few years ago-he said it was good but not great.

  4. seen all video even if i am italian and not intentioned to eat pizza in america… good job and good pizza i bet!

  5. It's true that bread, tomato and cheese are unlikely to be disgusting in any case. Simplicity always wins. PS: I recommend Frank Pinello's Best Pizza. I've never tried it, but I haven't missed an episode of his Pizza Show.

  6. Nice video by open-minded pizza fans from Italy. I've been going to no-slice John's on Bleecker St. for ca. 70 years (from when the murals of the Bay of Naples and Blue Grotto were the original dark ones, not the current bland replacements, and from when blind "Tiny" sat beside the oven all day. Anyone remember him?). All respect for maintaining the high quality. But pizza out of a takeout box carried home isn't a fair comparison, and neither is a slice taken out of a warming tray.

And, as others point out below, you haven't really eaten the best U.S. "apizza" if you haven't gone to New Haven: Sally's, Pepe's, The Spot. I live on the West Coast now and I've eaten lots of pizza over many years. I come back East occasionally. There's simply none that compares.

  7. Nice video. I see its a brand new channel. If I may give you a piece of advice…go to Texas and do something like " Italians try Americas best B'Bque. " Trust me, your vids will go viral. For some reason, us Americans love to watch people critique or most famous culinary delight..b'que.

  8. John’s actually started back in 1915 as Pizzeria Port’Alba founded by Filippo Milone. The place was taken over by John Sasso (who was related to Milone by marriage) and moved from 175 Sullivan to its current location. So it is practically the oldest running pizzeria in Manhattan.

  9. American soldier reviews Italian army. That's not a real army, is this country a joke? How do they call that a tank? How have they not been taken over? Oh that's right, our military protects all of the western world so pussies can freely complain about authentic cuisine. Brag about your spaghetti, you got nothing else except a once proud history. Your current generation of warriors are emasculated food critics. I came, I saw, i complained about the food. Ceasar is crying.

  10. I LIVE in South London Brixton sono di piemonte parent I do Rom a e piemonte LA pizza ROMANA e THE BEST DOPO NEWHAVEN WHICH IS TOP DRAW ,,!GATE13SW6CREW CFC uk

  11. I’ve been to Italy and the USA many times and have tried different types of pizza in both countries. Roman style, Naples, New York, Detroit, Chicago. Hands down NYC is my favourite. I feel like they tried some old school ones but not the best old school ones and none of the “new school” ones either.

  12. Hi.
Been living in nyc 48 years.
There's a place on 40th btwn 5th Ave and Madison, south side of street, called Upside Pizza .
Sourdough crust, mozzarella and pecorino cheese, it REALLY stood out to me.
If youve lived here your whole life…anything different is good, esp with pizza.

  13. I only eat apizza ( ahbeetz ) No mosserella just a little grated cheese & basil. My go to pizzeria in Manhattan is Grand Street Pizza.

  14. I'm sorry but you know when you're raised on certain produce and techniques you know it's not going to be the same anywhere else I'm sorry to you Italians even you generationals who know how to make it the way the family made it you still can't get that taste that your would get in the old world 🌎
