For future reference, I think what you actually wanted to do was a wine tasting. A wine tasting is where you go, typically to a winery/storefront, and you drink different wines. There may be an educational component but it’s more about the wine you drink than where it came from. What you booked was a wine tour which is very different. A wine tour is always an educational tour, usually of a vineyard or vineyards, where you learn about wine, the vineyard, and their history. While you do at some point drink wine during a wine tour, it’s typically at the end where there’s often a wine tasting set up. As opposed to a wine tasting where you’re generally drinking wine throughout the experience.
