The funny thing about "Born in the USA" is that it's not a patriotic song at all. If you actually listen to the lyrics, it's about a guy who is at the bottom of a rough small town. Who goes to Vietnam, and after coming back, he can't get hired and calls out employers, shifting the blame on someone else for why they can't hire them. And when he says, "I was born in the USA." He's cursing it, kind of like when people say,"Oh, God." He says it as a curse because the US is supposed to be a land of opportunity and equality. And yet he's being left behind. This is something that is happening again today with our Vetrans. They won't even hire them because they could "be a danger to those around them." A lot of police departments won't even hire them.
