We know Alessio LOVES pasta, but does he love macaroni and cheese?? We’re doing the ultimate Mac & cheese taste test to see if we can find a recipe that’s Italian approved. Macaroni and cheese originated in Italy after all! First, he tries everyone’s favorite, Kraft Mac & Cheese, then, Velveeta Shells and cheese. After that, I make him my delicious homemade Italian macaroni and cheese recipe with besciamella, gorgonzola, parmigiano reggiano, brie and fontina. (You could also call this pasta quattro formaggi or “four cheese pasta”. Finally, we finish with a 13th century Italian macaroni and cheese recipe from a Medieval cooking book called, Liber de Coquina. It’s called de lasanis! Guinness World Records lists this as the very first macaroni and cheese recipe and we show you how to make it in the video! Which Mac & cheese recipe will be the winner??

Kraft Deluxe mac & cheese runs circles around the blue box stuff, it's also better than the Velveeta & shells. The deluxe also uses a pouch of cheese goop, it just tastes better than the Velveeta stuff, and reheats better.
I swear I can smell some good olive oil after going to that page lol. Really. I'm craving it.
I use Penne in my macaroni and cheese. Also, I don't allow a microwave in my home. Though I am probably this way because nonni were from Palermo Italy, and I learned a lot from them.

I agree. I am English and I also had heard that so many people ate Mac and cheese. I took 1 mouthful – no way could I eat it. Neither can I eat those slices of yellow 'cheese', or lumps of highly processed rubber

Kraft Mac and cheese. 4 tbls of butter, not one.
I responded earlier saying I still like Kraft mac’n cheese. However, I do buy Italian pasta – from Italy. I can find packages in stores like TJ Maxx and Home Goods for around $3.50. And yes, the ‘real’ Italian pasta has a better flavor and color and texture. Just had a plate of spaghetti La Molisana, Bronze Die with simply butter and Parmesan cheese as u suggest here. And it was delicious.

We as children never had box Mac n cheese. Mom always made homemade Mac n cheese with penne past. ❤❤❤❤

One thing that can improve the Kraft Mac n' cheese is to remove the cooked pasta, make the sauce in the pan, and add the pasta to the sauce. (Personally, I prefer baked mac n cheese, but we agree to disagree. 😉)

My Irish grandmother lived through the Great Depression and kept several boxes of Craft Macaroni and Cheese in her cupboard. She would add hamburger or peas to her Macaroni. No matter how well she was doing financially, she always had a fear of running out of food.
My favorite mac and cheese is baked so it’s almost fluffy, not creamy
I bet they eat more hair then pasta .. they way her hair is everywhere while she cooks is very gross

You should really upgrade the Kraft Mac for him by adding a chopped up hotdog. Kid gourmet.
Pasta in bianco is pasta or egg pasta with BUTTER and cheese especially in north of Italy.
We use oil instead of butter just if we want something more "light".
Add it to taco meat. Taco Mac.
