I made a homemade tomato sauce for the girlfriend to show her that even as broke college students, we can still eat well. I used boxed fusilli, but this weekend we are making 100% homemade fettuccine alfredo (per i puristi italiani, le farò all’italiano : solo burro e pecorino romano, nient’altro)

    Avevo letto la parte delle fettuccine all’Alfredo e mi si stava per gelare il sangue, poi quando ho visto la parentesi italiana mi sono tranquillizzato!

    It looks like a very good plate of pasta.

    Your comment for Italian purests was not needed because Fettuccine Alfredo is not an Italian dish (you won’t find this being made in any Italian family’s home in Italy). So don’t worry about how you make it because you are not making an Italian dish.

    Alfredo is no harder to make from scratch than heating up a jar is. Totally worth it
