Flying from New York City to Naples, Italy to compare pizza. Representing NYC we have Joe’s pizza and for Naples we have L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele. Both pizzas were incredible but there can only be one winner.

  1. I like American style pizza, and New York style pizza is definitely very good, but Neapolitan style pizza is way better in my opinion. American style pizzas really appeals to our gluttonous side with its salty, greasy cheese. But Neapolitan style pizzas have a bit more of a sophisticated flavor to it. The crust tastes like delicious, yeasty flat bread rather than just “pizza crust” flavor. The sauce is simplistic and more plain tomato flavor. The Mozzarella is less greasy and salty too. I don’t necessarily think you have to travel to Italy to have Neapolitan style pizza though. There are plenty of places in Italy that have bad Neapolitan style pizza, and plenty of places in the US that have good Neapolitan style pizza. All about finding a restaurant with good recipes. Who cares what country they are in.

  2. Sorry but that is one boring looking pizza. Cheese and sauce? Get some real toppings on there, at least one besides cheese.

  3. Best and only pizza only in Napoli,if you think otherwise…go get pineapple pizza up your..in olive crapgarden

  4. The "sauce" on a pizza napoletana is not technically a "sauce". It does not cooked before going on the pizza, it is just fresh crushed tomato (best are the San Marzano) with some salt.

  5. No contest. Italian pizza almost anywhere is better than any pizza in NYC or any other place in the US.

  6. You have to be kidding me! You can't compare a plane disgusting NYC pizza with Naples pizzas. Any bad pizza in Italy will be a trillion times better than any other in NYC

  7. I’ve had pizza from NYC and Naples… both great but you MUST try the pizza in Trastevere Rome, Dar Poeta has the best pizza by far that I’ve ever tried. The crust is perfectly crisp, not floppy or flaky.

  8. Didn’t learn anything about the ingredients just some guy ramming food in his mouth telling us it’s good. Ok

  9. Joes is garbage, unfortunately. I was so excited to try it my first time in NYC but it was straight up ASSSSSSSSS

  10. Best slice is NOT Joe's. That's TOURIST TRAP pizza. Like Hard Rock Cafe type shit. Instead take the No. 1 train to 103rd Street station and get out, walk uptown another 2 blocks to MAMA's TOO! Pizza. THAT is the best slice you'll ever try in NYC.

  11. Stopped watching after you took a slice of pizza on a plane. Send this guy to the moon..

  12. I've tried this pizza. Unfortunately, this guy missed many negative aspects during his assessment this Naples' pizza.
    – the dough is very soggy, zero crisp. Also the black char spots give an off tasting bitterness to the dough.
If you like eating bitter, soggy pizza dough, with the texture of a sweaty wet gym shirt, this pizza is for you.
    – the sauce is uncooked before loading into the oven. Hence, when eating, my sauce tasted bitter and sour from its rawness. No wonder the pizza is so cheap. Zero effort is given in the preparation of the sauce. It's just out of the can, and slopped onto the pizza.🙄
    – The Bufala mozzarella is excellent when eaten fresh. However, if not eaten immediately, you can bounce it off the sidewalk. Eat fast! Forget saving leftovers.
    My assessment: Way overrated.
Oblivious virtue signaling tourists, whose judgement is confined to herd approval, will of course love it.

  13. I don’t think its the water that makes NY pizza great cause compared to europe nyc water is shit :Ddd but still they make the best pizzas… after naples of course

  14. Being Neapolitan I Fortunately have been in NYC once.
I think the most famous take away pizza in New York is SBARRO for sure lol.
I really like Pizza Hut Margherita and Pepperoni is my favorite with a lot of cheddar and the bread is very oiled and tasty but by the way we don't have any Pizza Hut in Italy so when I go abroad I always stop to Pizza Hut.
But there's something you have to learn about pizza…
Pizzas like Pizza Hut is not a true Pizza as we call it Focaccia!
Focaccia is when the bread is 2 fingers tall or more and it's usually made in the electric oven.
You can buy a focaccia even at supermarket here which it can be just made with oil and salt or oil and origan not necessarily with tomato, you'll find the ones with tomato at bar in square form or round shape it doesn't matter.
By the way there's no pizza that can be compared with Neapolitan ones around the world.
    Greetings from Napoli!

  15. Italy pizza is mid as fuck. Deep dish square detroit style is literally lightyears ahead of italian trash.
