Beef Tongue Recipe – This video shows you an easy recipe to cook a boiled Italian tongue.
Boil a beef tongue until tender; scrape the tongue and cut it into pieces. Melt 2 tablespoonfuls of butter in a saucepan, add 1 chopped onion and 2 cloves garlic minced fine. Cook for 1 minute on high heat.
Stir in 1 tablespoonful of flour until brown; add a little water, 1 cup tomato sauce, 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Let boil.
Add the scraped tongue pieces and half a glass of white wine such as Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc.
Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat then serve with macaroni baked in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
