We visited the legendary Lombardi’s Pizzeria, and in the video below you’ll see how much we enjoyed our slice of history.
In 1897, Gennaro Lombardi started a grocery store at 53 ½ Spring Street. There, he began making “Neapolitan–style” pizzas for his loyal neighborhood clientele. Gennaro’s pizza become so incredibly popular that his side business soon became a full-time job, necessitating a business license from the City of New York.
